Draft Premier League Gameweek 29: Chaps Choices Sleepers XI

Our Gameweek 29 Chaps Choices article provides Fantrax managers with a Fantasy EPL Sleepers XI.  Our starting eleven of Draft Premier League differential picks will help you find a golden ticket to a big score this weekend!  These hints and tips will give you a better chance of picking up an all-important victory, as one of our Fantasy EPL sleeper picks could easily make the difference in a Head-to-Head game!

We’ll be focusing on players that will bring us not only attacking returns or clean sheets, but also those players that score “ghost points” on the sophisticated and statistics based Togga scoring model!

*For this article, we use the ownership statistics from Fantrax.  Our only rule is that each player we highlight is required to have ownership of 60% or below at the time of writing.  This way there’s a good chance these players will be free agents in your Fantrax Draft League!

Fantasy EPL Gameweek 29 Sleepers XI

**60% ownership or below**

GK: Vicente Guaita

Team:  Crystal Palace

Opponent:  Watford (Home)

Ownership:  55%

Form Last 30 Days:  13.42 PPG

Prospects:  We’re backing Crystal Palace goalkeeper Guaita for the third week in a row, after backing him to great success over the last two weeks!  The Spaniard gained 12 points, followed by 24.5 points in his last two games!  This weekend Guaita is facing up against an in-form Watford side, but we think he’ll be able to gain a good points score for save points.  We’re not backing Crystal Palace for a clean sheet, but we think Guaita will make four to six saves, and concede one to two goals.  Therefore, his total points score will be anywhere in the region of four to ten points.  We would certainly take that!

GW29 Points Scored:  19.25

DEF: Shkodran Mustafi

Team:  Arsenal

Opponent:  West Ham (Home) and Manchester City (Away)

Ownership:  44%

Form Last 30 Days:  11 PPG

Prospects:  Mustafi has featured a lot for us in recent weeks, and the fixture against West Ham, as well as the Arsenal Double Gameweek 29, promotes Mustafi into our Sleepers XI once again.  The German defender is such a bad footballer, but also a really great Togga scorer!  Such a weird situation, but we aren’t complaining if we get a great ghost point defender from it!  Mustafi should score well against West Ham, with The Gunners performing much better defensively in recent weeks.  Anything Mustafi can gain from the additional Manchester City game would be a bonus.  Hopefully, the center back is over his recent injury troubles!

GW29 Points Scored:  0

DEF: Jan Bednarek

Team:  Southampton

Opponent:  Newcastle (Home)

Ownership:  26%

Form Last 30 Days:  15.38 PPG

Prospects:  Our Southampton defender of choice is Bednarek.  The big Polish defender gained a solid double-digit score in Gameweek 28, despite conceding three goals.  This was mainly down to the sheer number of clearances and aerials Bednarek won against West Ham forward Haller.  We’re predicting similar things this weekend, as he’ll be up against Newcastle target man Joelinton.  Southampton should gain a clean sheet against the goal-shy Magpies, and therefore a double-digit haul will certainly be on the cards for Bednarek!

GW29 Points Scored:  5

DEF: Christian Kabasele

Team:  Watford

Opponent:  Crystal Palace (Away)

Ownership:  11%

Form Last 30 Days:  4.33 PPG

Prospects:  Our Watford defender of choice for this week is Kabasele.  The big Belgian defender was a rock against Liverpool in Gameweek 28 and was certainly a key factor in The Hornets’ famous victory.  Similar to Bednarek above, we’re banking on Kabasele gaining lots of points for clearances and aerials against Crystal Palace target man Benteke.  Watford is a key target for Fantasy EPL managers at the moment.  Beating Liverpool, coupled with a guaranteed Gameweek 31 match, means you should really look towards Watford to pick up for Sleepers for Gameweek 29 and beyond!

GW29 Points Scored:  7.25

MID: Matt Ritchie

Team:  Newcastle

Opponent:  Southampton (Away)

Ownership:  58%

Form Last 30 Days:  3.5 PPG

Prospects:  Newcastle midfielder Matt Ritchie is back in our good books, after returning to the starting eleven in Gameweek 28.  The Togga scoring legend picked up his standard double-digit return, without any attacking returns.  And let’s be honest, attacking returns in this Newcastle side are hard to come by.  This weekend we expect Ritchie to keep his place in the side as Newcastle face a trip to Southampton.  This one has a Saints win written all over it, but Ritchie is still a great sleeper option for Gameweek 29.  If he’s a free agent in your Draft League, we highly recommend signing him!

GW29 Points Scored:  5

MID: Ondrej Duda

Team:  Norwich

Opponent:  Sheffield United (Away)

Ownership:  48%

Form Last 30 Days:  7.33 PPG

Prospects:  We’re big fans of January Signing Duda, as he’s been very impressive both on Fantrax and in real life during Chap 2’s scouting missions to Carrow Road.  The Slovakian international midfielder is a ghost points magnet, and deserves to be owned by a far greater number of managers!  If Duda is a free agent in your Draft League, please go and sign him!  This weekend Norwich faces a trip to high-flying Sheffield United, and we’re expecting another big score for Duda.  If he’s taken in your league, then do your best to try and trade him in; he won’t be a ‘sleeper’ for much longer after Gameweek 29!

GW29 Points Scored:  6.5

MID: Daniel Ceballos

Team:  Arsenal

Opponent:  West Ham United (Home) and Manchester City (Away)

Ownership:  41%

Form Last 30 Days:  6.25 PPG

Prospects:  Ceballos has come back into contention for Arsenal in recent weeks, and has scored a decent amount of points.  Nothing spectacular, but he looks like a decent midfielder to own if you can sign him from the free-agent pool.  Arsenal has two games this week in Fantasy EPL, so Ceballos should gain a double-figure haul if he starts both games!  The Spaniard produced three key passes during the victory over Newcastle in Gameweek 27, and we’re hoping he produces a similar performance against West Ham this weekend.  Any points that Ceballos can gain against Manchester City would be welcome!  Worth a punt if you’re after some players in this mini double Gameweek.

GW29 Points Scored:  13

MID: Moussa Djenepo

Team:  Southampton

Opponent:  Newcastle (Home)

Ownership:  20%

Form Last 30 Days:  14.75 PPG

Prospects:  Moussa Djenepo missed out in Gameweek 28 after his mother passed away in the build-up to the game.  Southampton lost to West Ham, and therefore we’re expecting Djenepo to come straight back into the side this weekend.  The Saints face struggling Newcastle at home, and we think they will get back to winning ways.  Djenepo is an absolute live-wire option for Southampton.  Not only is he great to watch, but he also scores really well on Fantrax.  This is the best of both worlds.  Sign him up if you still can, we’re expecting a performance similar to his 24.5 points haul in Gameweek 27!!

GW29 Points Scored:  -6.5

FWD: Olivier Giroud

Team:  Chelsea

Opponent:  Everton (Home)

Ownership:  55%

Form Last 30 Days:  9.33 PPG

Prospects:  The veteran Chelsea forward has bagged attacking returns in his last two starts, and looks set to lead the line in the continued absence of Abraham.  We backed Giroud to great success last weekend, and we’re expecting solid points once again against Everton in Gameweek 29.  The Blues are struggling with injuries, so the game should be pretty open.  Therefore, hopefully, there are plenty of points up for grabs for Giroud!  Pick up the Frenchman for Gameweek 29 whilst we can still class him as a sleeper.

GW29 Points Scored:  19.5

FWD: Christian Benteke

Team:  Crystal Palace

Opponent:  Watford (Home)

Ownership:  40%

Form Last 30 Days:  13.33 PPG

Prospects:  The Big Belgian was the marque forward attraction in this week’s Hot or Cold Player Rankings.  And rightfully so!  Benteke is the ninth highest-scoring forward over the last four games, which is sensational form given his 40% ownership.  The Crystal Palace man is a ghost points king but also has two attacking returns in his last three games!  Fellow striker Tosun has been ruled out for the season, and The Eagles now have a guaranteed Gameweek 31 fixture.  There are SO MANY reasons to bring Benteke into your Fantrax side right now.  If you can get hold of him ahead of the Gameweek 29 fixture against Watford, you would have done very well!

GW29 Points Scored:  11.5

FWD: Oliver McBurnie

Team:  Sheffield United

Opponent:  Norwich City (Home)

Ownership:  22%

Form Last 30 Days:  14.25 PPG

Prospects:  McBurnie has proven to be a really useful asset to Fantrax manager in recent weeks, as he has developed into a consistent ghost points scoring forward.  Much like Benteke, the young forward has been gaining lots of points for actions other than attacking returns!  Aerials are the main way by which McBurnie gains his points, but he has been scoring fairly well across lots of different scoring categories.  This weekend Sheffield United face Norwich City at home, and we’re expecting a win, and a decent points haul for McBurnie.
