Fantasy Basketball Week 13 Trade Targets

We have been red hot with our recent trade target advice! If you were lucky enough to get Joe Ingles, Donovan Mitchell, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or Lonzo Ball after the last few trade target articles; you’re welcome. As the All-Star break gets closer, we’ll look at two players. One who is returning from injury and another that will likely see his role diminished as his team battles in the bottom half of the standings.

Like any good stock trader, the best time to sell is when the value of a commodity is high. Inversely, the best time to buy is when a commodity value is low.

Our key trade targets take into consideration those players that have moved significantly in value against their average draft position (ADP) after the first eight weeks of the NBA season.

Fantasy Basketball Week 13 Trade Targets

Kristaps Porzingas – Dallas Mavericks

Action: Buy Low

The big Zinga has been sidelined recently with a sore knee. Fantasy Managers may be frustrated by his lack of playing time. Strike now if you can. Dallas has been playing better than expected this year. There is no doubt their coaching staff has been extra cautious with Porzingas recently. He is due back in the next few games and should be back to his early-season form. Make sure you don’t overpay though. Examples of players to move are Kevin Love or Will Barton; both of whom have overachieved early this year.

Devonte Graham – Charlotte Hornets

Action: Sell High

Devonte Graham must be a hot contender for Most Improved Player this season. After playing less than 15 minutes per game last year, he has been outstanding for the struggling Hornets. Graham is averaging 18.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 7.7 assists through 44 games.

With the Hornets now 4.5 games out of playoff contention, I believe they will slowly slide into ‘tank mode’ as the season progresses. This will mean their regular starters’ minutes will shift in blowout losses. I’m not a fan of ‘good stats, bad team’ players later in the year. Teams will typically protect their valued players and ensure that they do not get injured. Charlotte has found their future point guard in Graham and will not take any risks with him. Sell high while you can!

Zion Williamson – New Orleans Pelicans

Action: Buy Low

The long-awaited return of Zion Williamson is close! He is expected to be back next week. Whilst there has been a lot of hype around Williamson, he still may have additional value in your league if you can make a move now. Zion has the opportunity to slot nicely into the Pelicans rotation immediately. He will play around 15-20 minutes initially but expect that to jump over 25 minutes quickly.

Williamson has the tools to be an incredible fantasy basketball addition to your team. I wrote a piece on him earlier in the year outlining what his numbers will be like in the NBA.

He is one of the top buy-low trade targets now. Especially in keeper leagues!
