Michael Florio’s Week 12 Fantasy Football Positional Rankings!

First off, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Hope you enjoy whatever it is you choose to do on Thanksgiving and mainly I hope my Week 12 positional rankings help you continue your chase for a fantasy championship!

  • I am a big fan of Anthony Miller this week. Not only does he face a Lions team that has struggled heavily against slot receivers but I think the move to Chase Daniels means more safe, shorter throws than with Mitch Trubisky. I expect Miller to see a lot of targets on Thanksgiving. He is the Bears receiver I would most trust.
  • I also think it means more targets for Tarik Cohen and more rushing which bodes well for Jordan Howard. Both Bears running backs are RB2’s for me this week. If you have to decide between the two I would go Howard in standard and Cohen in PPR.
  • Gus Edwards came out of nowhere in Week 11, leading the Ravens backfield in snaps (61.8 percent) and touches (17). Better yet, Edwards was effective and could be the great waiver wire running back that always seems to blossom this time of year. The negative is that he made Alex Collins unstartable. I am not sure if that is actually a word, but I know I will not be trusting Collins in fantasy this week. Edwards is a low-end RB2.
  • Edwards is not the only RB that appears to be taking over. Josh Adams led the Eagles in snaps (56.3 percent), touches (10), targets (6) and really any other offensive stat you can pick. It can be difficult to trust Doug Pederson and his RBs but Adams is the only one you can start in fantasy.
  • Cameron Brate is once again fantasy relevant with O.J. Howard landing on the IR. Since the start of 2017 no player has caught more touchdowns from Jameis Winston than Brate and his seven. The closest to Brate? O.J. Howard with six. Winston may not be the best QB in the league, but he loves his tight ends and will find them in the end zone. Brate is a Top 10 TE the rest of the season.
  • I have been talking up Keke Coutee all season. And unlike many, I did not think the acquisition of Demaryius Thomas would hurt Coutee. So far, that looks correct. It was only one game with them both active, but he led them with nine targets, while Thomas only had one.
  • Trey Quinn is a Thanksgiving Day sleeper if Jamison Crowder is out this week. Quinn took over the slot last week running 22 routes to Maurice Harris’ seven. The Cowboys struggle against slot receivers as of late, so Quinn is in play in deeper leagues.
