Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds: Week 19

No pun intended, but our Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire adds for the 2023-24 NBA season are coming down to the wire. At this point, managers should know if they are going to the Fantasy Basketball playoffs or if it will be a long off-season. Despite the long, grueling process of the NBA season, we have made it. Last week saw Terrance Mann deliver solid performances as Paul George was recovering from injury. Mann saw a handful of 25 or more fantasy points, but that is over. Now, he is back on the bench but did what he was supposed to do.

The Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire is more crucial than Fantasy Football’s. A lot of the time, we pick up players to help us just for the week and then let them go back into the pool of players. With that being said, along with Terrance Mann, Cody Martin, and Cole Anthony also made it last week. Anthony has been consistent with 20 or more fantasy points since February 22nd. Cody Martin on the other hand had a big 37.5 fantasy point game on the 25th of February. Then, he proceeded to sizzle out with games of 19, 18, and 23.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds

Miles McBride, G – New York Knicks (24% rostered)

Miles McBride will be the most sought-after player in fantasy basketball starting tomorrow. Jalen Brunson banged up his knee one minute into Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Cavilers. The Knicks will go as far as Jalen Brunson takes them. Being down the second and third options in O.G. Anunoby and Julius Randle already, Brunson needs to be patient. The Knicks will be in the playoffs this season and that is a fact. If sitting Jalen Brunson for a week or two is what needs to be done, then do it. From a fantasy perspective, Miles McBride can very well end up being a league winner.

First things first, he is very young and athletic. He has the stamina and the endurance to be out on the court at all times. After Brunson left, McBride ended up playing 47 minutes against the Cavilers. Since the Quentin Grimes trade, McBride has been seen as the Knicks’ defensive specialist. Now, McBride has also seen three consecutive games of 24 or more fantasy points. Although he accumulated just 24.75 fantasy points on 47 minutes, he is the starting point guard if Brunson misses time. Rostered in just 24% of all Fantrax leagues, McBride is my top Waiver Wire Add for this week.

Grant Williams, F/C – Charlotte Hornets (60% rostered)

Grant Williams might be “annoying” or not liked by some of his peers, but if he is scoring fantasy points, I will take him on my roster. Williams has seen three consecutive games of 27.75, 26,5, and now tonight with 39.75 fantasy points. Nick Richards of the Hornets is also dealing with a foot injury. Williams played 40 minutes to go along with his 39.75-point game. Even without being in the starting lineup, Williams was averaging 13.8 points, five rebounds, and 1.9 assists. The players you would never imagine always help you capture fantasy championships. Grant Williams can very well be one of those players in 2024. At 60% rostered, add Williams tomorrow morning onto your teams.

Jabari Walker, F – Portland Trail Blazers (43% rostered)

Is it a fluke, luck, or a mixture of both? I say it’s a young man figuring out his role as a professional basketball player. This is something I’d rather be ahead and wrong, than correct, but never made the move. Jabari Walker has not done much in his rookie season and has not been consistent in year two. The good thing is that he is gaining much-needed experience and it has shown. Walker has recorded a double-double in back-to-back games with 38.5 and 36 fantasy points. A team like Portland is all but ready for Cancun. Plane tickets are all that is left for them. The Blazers might start bringing out different lineups to see what they have for the future.

Do not be on the wrong side of things when Jabari Walker is winning leagues in a few weeks. Walker has averaged 24.56 fantasy ppg compared to his season average of 18.9 fantasy ppg. At just 43% rostered across Fantrax leagues, put in that Waiver Wire claim and enjoy the rewards.
