Gameweek 14 Waiver Wire Targets

Here we outline Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Targets that have 40% ownership or below on Fantrax.  These players will also have a favorable run of fixtures upcoming, so they could perform very well over the upcoming period!  Trade Targets will be players who look set to do well over the upcoming period, but their ownership statistics suggest they are probably taken in most draft leagues!

Curtis Jones

Position: Midfielder

Team: Liverpool

Ownership: 20%

Next 5 Fixtures: cpl (A), WBA (H), new (A), sou (A), MUN (H)

Prospects: Jones has been a mainstay in the Liverpool midfield over the last few weeks, and should continue to keep his spot with his recent performances. Liverpool comes into a very friendly run of fixtures, and with Jones improving each game he is definitely worth a pickup. Jones has managed 9.5 and 10 points in his last two games with no attacking returns. That is better than some of the tier two mids people are still holding on to! I do expect Jones to rotate, in fact, his rest may come Saturday vs. Palace, but he should start the majority of fixtures especially with the recent Jota injury, and Keita being managed more carefully. When he starts I would consider Jones a MID4 with MID3 upside.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-2% of my FAAB on Jones.

Yves Bissouma

Position: Midfielder

Team: Brighton

Ownership: 13%

Next 5 Fixtures: SHU (H), whu (A), ARS (H), WOL (H), mci (A)

Prospects: Bissouma has slowly been getting into form from a fantasy perspective with three of his last four games over six points. While those six points don’t sound super exciting, he is coming up against teams that like to give up quite a few chances and could see a rare attacking return. Bissouma is a set-and-forget MID5 and this season probably a better one than Kante or Ndidi. Midfielders are becoming rare in deeper leagues, and over this festive period having a player who should go 90 minutes is extra valuable. This alone will make Bissouma a valuable pickup.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver claim or 0-2% of my FAAB on Bissouma.

Alex Iwobi

Position: Midfielder

Team: Everton

Ownership: 21%

Next 5 Fixtures: ARS (H), shu (A), MCI (H), WHU (H), wol (A)

Prospects: Another midfielder features in this article! Iwobi has been a mainstay since Digne’s injury and has been playing above expectations. From a fantasy perspective, he has the most upside of the three midfielders in this article and is the one to target ahead of waivers. Iwobi got an assist in the win over Leicester and managed 18 points. In his new role he seems to have a solid floor of 8-10 points, and solid upside with him getting forward. Everton has somewhat of a tougher schedule on paper, but truth is, none of the teams they are up against are really playing that well.

Verdict: I would look to use a mid-tier waiver claim or 2-5% of my FAAB on Iwobi.
