Fantasy Hockey Week 26 Waiver-Wire Goalies

The waiver wire is a wonderful way to add hidden gems and overlooked players to your fantasy hockey club. This remains true whether you plan to have them as short-term or long-term parts of your fantasy hockey roster. Now that we are in the final portion of the season, we better understand which waiver-wire goalies are worth adding. As a result, here are three waiver-wire goalies to consider bringing in for Week 26.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Goalies to Consider for Week 26

Calvin Pickard, Edmonton Oilers

At the beginning of the season, the Edmonton Oilers made the tough decision to waive Jack Campbell. The veteran goaltender struggled immensely with Edmonton, and it opened the door for Calvin Pickard to join the NHL squad. Since then, the longtime AHLer has been an excellent backup for the Oilers. Because of this fact alone, he is a goalie to consider bringing in as a waiver-wire pickup.

Yet, as the season has gone, Pickard’s play has noticeably improved. In his last appearance against the Calgary Flames, he was marvelous, saving 33 out of 35 shots. Recently before then, he also saved 21 out of 22 shots against the Anaheim Ducks. The 31-year-old has simply been stellar down the stretch and is a clear waiver-wire goalie this week because of it.

Kevin Lankinen, Nashville Predators

When it comes to the Nashville Predators, star goalie Juuse Saros is the talk of the town. It is understandable, as he is one of the best goalies in the sport. The Predators also have a top goalie prospect in Yaroslav Askarov. However, while they have great goalie options, Kevin Lankinen also deserves some big-time praise. He is an excellent backup and the kind of waiver-wire goalie to consider right now.

Lankinen, 28, has been spectacular as of late. In his most recent start, he saved 28 out of 29 shots against the New York Islanders. He also has had a .935 SV% or better in five out of his last six appearances. He has been outstanding as the season has continued, and it’s time for fantasy managers to realize that. As a result, he’s a waiver-wire goalie to snag this week.

Dustin Wolf, Calgary Flames

Calgary Flames goalie Dustin Wolf is one of the club’s top prospects and is expected to have a very bright future in the NHL. While he has had some trouble adjusting to the sport’s most competitive league this season, he has been trending in the right direction as of late. Because of this, he’s a clear waiver-wire candidate for this week.

Wolf has a .909 SV% or better in three out of his last four starts. These are some solid numbers for the 22-year-old, and it’s even more impressive when noting that the Flames traded several core guys this season. Because of this, Wolf is the kind of youngster to bring in as a waiver-wire addition for this final part of the season.

This week offers some excellent waiver-wire goalies. Pickard, Lankinen, and Wolf have all been playing quite well down the stretch. Now, we will need to wait and see how these finish off the season from here.
