2022 Fantasy Football: Week 4 Quarterback Rankings

Buckle up, folks! Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen will face off against each other in a Week 4 Baltimore showdown. This should be a fun one, with lots of scoring on both sides. Jackson and Allen are the top options in my Week 4 quarterback rankings.  So fire them both up, and sit back and enjoy the show!

In injury news, Zach Wilson should return this week, pending the green light from his doctors. If he plays, he’ll face the Steelers on the road and is an option in two-quarterback leagues.

Mac Jones has a high-ankle sprain and will miss multiple games. Brian Hoyer is the next man up and should be avoided, if possible.

Week 4 Quarterback Notes

  • It’s been a slow start to the season for Aaron Rodgers. However, he’s improved each week and finished as the QB12 in Week 3. Rodgers gets a favorable home matchup against the Patriots, who are allowing the seventh-most fantasy points (21.88) to quarterbacks this season. I expect Rodgers’ momentum to carry over to Week 4, making him a top-eight option this week.
  • Marcus Mariota has quietly moved up the quarterback ranks. He’s the QB13 on the season due in part to his rushing ability – through three weeks, Mariota has rushed 25 times for 92 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns. As long as he continues to be productive on the ground, Mariota will flirt with top-12 production each week. He gets a plus matchup at home against the Browns, who have surrendered the 10th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks on the season.
  • Geno Smith is a solid streamer this week. He’s coming off a QB7-finish against the Falcons where he completed 32-of-44 passes for 325 yards, and threw two touchdowns and one interception. Smith gets another cushy matchup this week against Detroit. The Lions are allowing the second-most fantasy points per game (23.6) to quarterbacks, as well as the eighth-most passing yards (797) this season. Smith could push into QB1 territory this week.
  • Matthew Stafford has yet to get into a groove this season. Through three weeks, he has four touchdowns, and his five interceptions are tied for league-most. Stafford doesn’t bring any rushing production to the table, so until he can turn those numbers around, he’ll continue to underwhelm for fantasy managers. Stafford gets a tough matchup this week against a stout 49ers defense that has allowed the fewest passing yards this season (445), and the second-fewest fantasy points (9.59) to quarterbacks. He’s my biggest fade of the week.
