Week 9 Sleepers and Streamers

Jeremy McNichols (Tennessee Titans)

I can’t believe this is even a sleeper or streaming option. All week I’ve been hearing that there are potentially other options for the Titans’ backfield, and I’m stunned by it. In my eyes, the Titans had two starting running backs, and the only reason McNichols wasn’t getting a lot of touches was that if you have Derrick Henry, you give him all he can handle. For all intents and purposes, he never really got injured until today. McNichols is 80%+ in all the athleticism scores if you look at his draft metrics. Even though he didn’t get many touches, he’s managed to have 20+ catches and over 200 yards through the air (10 yards per catch). He had one game with 8 receptions and 70+ yards. The dude is flat-out explosive, and I actually don’t think the Titans are going to miss a beat, because you still need to respect their passing attack. McNichols can win you your league. Flat out. He’s going to get himself paid after this next stretch of games, once the league sees how talented he is as a starting back. Buckle up.

Ty’Son Williams (Baltimore Ravens)

The RB situation in Baltimore has been puzzling to me. Williams had tremendous success when given his chance to be the lead back. He had 9 carries for 65 yards and 1 TD. Then had 13 carries for 77 yards the following week. Baltimore proceeded to get a new lead back in Murray, and when he got hurt, they made Lev Bell and Freeman options that took carriers away from Williams. With less success, might I add. It made me consider that they were using him sparingly to try and trade him. Now that the trade deadline has come and gone, I see no reason for the Ravens not to go back to Williams full-time. I really don’t. He’s not in the doghouse. No fumbling problems. He doesn’t have the name brand of the other two backs, but he’s had the most success. Take the risk.

Boston Scott (Philadelphia Eagles)

Boston Scott made my sleepers list last week, and he was still available in a lot of leagues since everybody (including myself) thought that Kenny Gainwell was going to be the lead back in this backfield. On top of that, Jalen Hurts tends to cap the running back upside. However, I guess Nick Siriani likes Boston Scott more than Miles Sanders because he got his rushing touches and his redone touchdowns. Perhaps playing the winless Lions changes your game script, a bit. Regardless, Boston Scott is the lead back, it appears. Don’t be scared to trot him out in your starting lineups.
