Fantasy Hockey Week 19 Waiver Wire Forwards – 02/20/24

The waiver wire is a great place to find players each week who will help your fantasy hockey team in the short term and the long term. You have surely already taken advantage of this through the first 18 weeks of fantasy. Regardless, there will still be strong options on the waiver wire at forward that we will look at again for this week. Whether it is only for a few games, these players are worth adding to help your team out. This is the place where you can find great options to take advantage of before anyone else does.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 19

Bobby McMann, Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs are finally starting to find some depth scoring as Bobby McMann has been someone who has stepped up in a big way. While he is on the third line, he has managed five goals and six points in the last three games. I don’t expect this offensive outburst to continue for long, but it definitely gives him confidence in his game.

These recent strong games have given McMann the opportunity for more playing time at the very least. He has not only taken advantage on the scoresheet, he has been shooting and hitting more to go along with blocking more shots. These are all great things to have on top of scoring in fantasy hockey, especially if the player goes a game or two without producing. The Toronto Maple Leafs play four games this week against the St. Louis Blues, Arizona Coyotes, Vegas Golden Knights, and Colorado Avalanche. This is a good opportunity to see if McMann is worth keeping after the week.

Mason Marchment, Dallas Stars

Mason Marchment has been surging lately and not enough people have taken advantage of him. He is up to 18 goals and 28 assists on the season, but has proven to be inconsistent at times, providing a lot less in fantasy. What Marchment has done recently is anything longer than he has this season as he has a nine-game point streak consisting of four goals, 13 points, five power-play points, 18 shots, 14 hits, and six blocked shots.

The Dallas Stars also have four games this week against the Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, and Carolina Hurricanes. Marchment continues to play alongside Matt Duchene and Tyler Seguin, both players who have had great offensive seasons as well. If Marchment is available, he seems to be a long-term option and a player you would keep on your roster for the remainder of the season to contribute in all categories.

Jake Neighbours, St. Louis Blues

Jake Neighbours has been a big reason why the St. Louis Blues are still in the mix for the playoffs as he has provided some great secondary scoring through the lineup. For a good chunk of the season, he has been a bottom-six player, but lately, he has found a place in the top-six and I don’t think he will be forfeiting that any time soon.

Neighbours has 19 goals on the season which ties him for the team lead in St. Louis. He has played better with more ice time recently as well, putting up four goals and eight points in his last five games. What’s been great about having Neighbours on your fantasy team is that he will fight and take penalties, produce on the power play, shoot, hit, and even block some shots. He is turning into a very good well-rounded player that could be someone that stays on your fantasy hockey team for a good while. The Blues have three games this week against the Maple Leafs, New York Islanders, and Detroit Red Wings, but have an early back-to-back the following week if Neighbours is still producing the way you would like.

Players that may seem like great waiver wire pickups could fade quickly, while others could turn out to be great for a long time.
