Fantasy Football 2023: Week 16 Wide Receiver Sleepers and Streamers

My last Sleepers and Streamers article saw a 50% hit rate in the first round of the Fantasy Football playoffs. Sadly, Zay Flowers has gone missing from the football field, and an “Amber Alert” was issued. Also, the Panthers beat the Falcons and allowed them to muster up 204 TOTAL yards and Bryce Young led both teams in passing yards. That said, we are on to the semi-finals for the Fantasy Football playoffs. With being one step closer to a championship, here are the Wide Receiver Sleepers and Streamers for Week 16.

Week 16 Wide Receiver Sleepers and Streamers

Wide Receiver Sleepers

Darius Slayton @ Philadelphia Eagles

This might be crazy in the semi-finals of Fantasy Football, but the Eagles against the pass is BAD NEWS for them. Currently, the Eagles have given up the most ppg to Wide Receivers for most of the season. Darius Slayton has seen a snap share of 93% or better in consecutive weeks. He had seen over a 90% snap share just one other time which was Week 8. Slayton has 143 more yards than the next receiver for the Giants and he will be leading their receiving group for the rest of the season. Slayton’s only great game this season came against another NFC East rival, the Washington Commanders who are second to the Eagles with the most ppg to Wide Receivers.

Gabe Davis @ Los Angeles Chargers

Gabe Davis should only be someone you roster for best-ball leagues. If you do have him on your redraft roster, this might be the week to take the risk. Davis has had three targets with ZERO catches in the past two games COMBINED. His only good games this season have come against bottom 12 defenses against Wide Receivers other than the Las Vegas Raiders and Miami Dolphins (both ranked 16-21). The Los Angeles Chargers gave up 63 points to the Raiders in Week 15. Aidan O’Connell had the best game of his career. Now, the best fantasy Quarterback in the past four seasons Josh Allen visits the Chargers. This is the Gabe Davis week because Josh Allen will have over three touchdowns as the Bills are going to embarrass the Chargers. A 20-point game is on the horizon for Davis and a trip to your Fantasy Football championships.

Wide Receiver Streamers

Chris Godwin @ Jacksonville Jaguars

A battle of two teams from the Sunshine State. The Jaguars are just trying to finish this season as fast as possible with the amount of injuries they have suffered. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the other hand are leading their division with Baker Mayfield as their starting Quarterback. Godwin posted his first WR1 week since Week 4! It has been consecutive weeks now that Godwin has seen double-digit target games. He was able to produce great numbers this time around though with ten catches for 155 yards. In the semi-finals, Godwin gets his softest match-up from a fantasy perspective since Week 11. The Jaguars are a bottom-12 team in terms of ppg to Wide Receivers.

Diontae Johnson vs. Cincinnati Bengals

After being outside the top 30, even the top 40 from Weeks 10-12, Diontae Johnson has had three consecutive double-digit weeks. Diontae Johnson has seen finishes of WR24, WR16, and WR19 in his last three games with a touchdown in all three. The George Pickens stan accounts are silent. The WR1 for the Pittsburgh Steelers is and always was Diontae Johnson. Johnson is on a hot streak and at the perfect time, too. Plug him into your line-up and watch him have another top 24 week in the semi-finals. My BOLD prediction for Sleepers and Streamers is that Diontae Johnson will have his first WR1 finish since Week 9 of this season.
