Fantasy Football 2022: Week 17 RB Rankings

This is it, this is what you worked all year for. It is championship week! Week 17 is where it all ends and my final RB rankings of the year. No mistakes are to be made here but don’t worry, these rankings will help with your second thoughts.

Last week, some top RBs were disappointing, but that is what happens in fantasy. Josh Jacobs, Rhamondre Stevenson, Nick Chubb, and Dalvin Cook all didn’t show up. But, that doesn’t mean you should bench them in the championship round.

All these teams are still fighting for the playoffs, so they are going to play through their stars. On that note, let’s get into my rankings for championship week.

Running Back Notes:

  • Tyler Allgeier moves up to my RB26 on the week against the Cardinals. I put my faith in Allgeier last week and he paid off as a strong flex-start. Right now, the Cardinals are giving up the sixth most fantasy points to running backs this year. Allgeier is becoming the lead back in this offense and had 18 carries last week for 74 yards. Allgeier will be a league winner this week.
  • Another running back who is jumping up in the rankings is Cam Akers. He is my RB18 this week against the Chargers. Just last week the Chargers gave up 65 yards to Zach Moss on 12 carries. Akers is coming off one of the best fantasy games of this career with 118 yards and three touchdowns. The Chargers are giving up the eighth most fantasy points to running backs this season, so all signs point to Akers this week.
  • D’Onta Foreman had a huge game last week, but I have him down as my RB30 this week. He is playing the Buccaneers this week, which means it should be a low-scoring game. Foreman is truly a boom-or-bust player. I would bench him this week. If you are risky, he could go off this week, but I don’t trust him against this Tampa Bay defense.
  • Lastly, I have Zonovan Knight as my RB31. He has a great matchup against the Seahawks this week. He’s had a bad couple of weeks, but Mike White is back this week, and Knight and the rest of the offense run more smoothly with White under center. Knight is a sneaky flex option this week. The Jets are fighting for the playoffs and Knight will be a big part of the offense in doing so.
