Fantasy Baseball Weekend Pitching Streamers: 6/17-6/19

Need some extra pitching this weekend? Look no further than the weekend pitching streamers! Each weekend there are lower-rostered pitchers who could help your squad finish the week strong. I will give you players that are rostered in less than 50% of CBS leagues that have advantageous matchups. Not all of these guys are desirable options though, so I will also include a streamer confidence rating between 1-10. Good luck and happy weekend streaming!

Top Weekend Pitching Streamers

Friday:

Devin Smeltzer @ Arizona Diamondbacks (23% Rostered)

Confidence Rating: 6

Smeltzer has been serviceable since joining the Twins’ rotation in mid-May. He won’t give you many strikeouts, but he will provide you with a balanced WHIP and ERA, with the potential for a win thanks to a good offense. He’s up against a Diamondbacks team that ranks in the bottom 20% of the league in ISO and wRC+ against LHP. Smeltzer doesn’t get a ton of swing and misses, but he has been able to pitch deep into games without much damage done against him. Without any better options for Friday, Smeltzer gives you the best chance for a good ERA and WHIP with the opportunity for a win.

Saturday:

Cole Irvin vs. Kansas City Royals (44% Rostered)

Confidence Rating: 4

This will be a battle of the two worst teams in Major League Baseball. The matchup is good enough for Irvin to be a solid streaming option this weekend despite his own team’s struggles. One thing I like about Irvin is that he has not pitched fewer than five innings in any start this season. He also has only given up more than two runs twice in 2022. It doesn’t get much easier than a matchup against the Royals this weekend, so I would feel confident starting Irvin if you need a pitching streamer.

Dylan Bundy @ Arizona Diamondbacks (26% Rostered)

Confidence Rating: 3

Bundy has been hit or miss all season, but the matchup against the Diamondbacks is too good to pass up. Arizona has been a bit better against RHP than LHP this season, but not by much. This is more of having confidence in the lack of offense from Arizona than it is in Bundy, but the Twins’ offense should at least back Bundy up no matter how well the start goes. After Irvin, you won’t find a much better streaming option than Bundy for Saturday, so I would start him if Irvin is not available in your league.

Sunday:

Dane Dunning @ Detroit Tigers (30% Rostered)

Confidence Rating: 9

I am beginning to like Dunning more and more each week, even as more than just a pitching streamer. I especially like his matchup this weekend against Detroit. As a team the Tigers strike out 25% of the time against RHP. Dunning himself has a 22.1% strikeout rate on the season, so he has a good chance to rack up some K’s in this start. Another good aspect of this matchup for Dunning is that Detroit ranks dead last in OPS, ISO, wRC+, and wOBA against RHP. There isn’t a better matchup for a pitcher right now than the Detroit Tigers, and I think Dunning takes full advantage to close out the week.

Adrian Houser @ Cincinnati Reds (41% Rostered)

Confidence Rating: 5

Houser hasn’t been on his best game as of late, but he hasn’t faced a team as bad as the Reds in a while. The Reds rank in the bottom third of the league in every major offensive category against RHP, but they have been much better at home. This does give me hesitation to start Houser in Great American Ballpark, but I like him better than the other streaming options. While I would rather stream Dunning this weekend, and he is more widely available, Houser is a good option against the Reds on Sunday.
