3 NBA Player Props for 1/13/23

We had an incredible night of basketball last night, with both predictable, and unpredictable outcomes. Yesterday we went two for three on our recommendations. Let’s see if we can go a perfect three for three on this nine game NBA slate. With prop bets, we don’t need to wait for season-long storylines to play out. Every day is a new day. Fantrax wants to help you win a bit of money, so we will be giving you NBA Player Prop Bets every week. We’ll shy away from keying in on any particular sportsbook, as we know odds vary, and so do props. We’ll focus on our projections, and allow you to find your best odds. Let’s get into today’s props.

NBA Player Props for January 13

CJ McCollum, OVER 35 Points + Rebounds + Assists:

At this point, I don’t know if Brandon Ingram is ever coming back. He’s been day-to-day for what feels like the past two months. While the Pelicans don’t love that, it’s done wonders for CJ’s usage rates. He’s had 35 PRA in four of his last five matchups. Tonight he’ll get to take on the lowly Detroit Pistons. I guess they aren’t that bad, considering they just blewout the Wolves, but I think that’s more of a Wolves problem, than a positive indicator on Detroit. The Pistons rank 2nd to last in defense, while also being in the top half for pace. The Pelicans also play at a pace that ranks just outside the top ten. This will be a track meet that the Pistons will lose. I expect McCollum to prosper. I will say, he doesn’t really provide a lot of ancillary stats, so a 28+ point line is also a solid bet.

Julius Randle to record Double-Double:

Bradley Beal looks like he’s on his way back, as he was cleared for basketball activities, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be available tonight. Kristaps Porzingis has been battling injury management as well. But regardless of who is in the Wizards’ lineup tonight, one thing is for sure: Julius Randle will have the ball in his hands. The Knicks have won four of their last five games, and Julius Randle has had a double-double in every single one of them. The Wizards are the 12th seed in the East, with a middle of the road offensive, defensive, and pace rating. It’s going to take a lot more than than that to scare me off of Randle’s renaissance. Knicks win. Randle dominates.

Steph Curry OVER 30 Points + Rebounds + Assists:

The Spurs are going to set an attendance record for tonight’s game at the Alamodome (the Spurs’ arena up until 2002). What do we know about Steph Curry? He loves to put on a show in the biggest stages. While I think that provides extra juice, it’s not enough evidence to bet on somebody. The real reason I feel comfortable chasing this is because the Spurs are dead last in defensive rating and top ten in pace. The Warriors are 1st in pace. There are going to be a lot of possessions in this one, and even thought it’s only his 2nd game back after his injury recovery, I think he’ll be able to have a much better performance than he did vs. the Suns. He played 31 minutes last game, so minutes restriction won’t be a big deal, though he did complain that it messed with his rhythm. I’m sure Steve Kerr will make the necessary adjustments. I’d be comfortable taking this PRA line up to 35+.
