2021 Fantasy Football: Week 16 D/ST Streamers

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably made the playoffs. Congrats! It also means that by now, you know the drill. Picking a defense matters. So let’s get into it. Having to plug kickers and defenses into your fantasy lineups is one of the worst parts of fantasy football. Especially when you get beat because of it. But you get what you get, and you don’t get upset. So, let’s take a look at three potential defenses that could score you some points. There’s no reason you can’t be the one who wins their matchup because of their defense, right? Let’s see if my Week 16 D/ST streamers can help you do just that.

Week 16 DST Streamers

Week 16 Rankings: QB | RB | WR | TE | Kicker | D/ST | PPR | Flex

San Francisco 49ers Defense

In Week 16 the 49ers take on the Titans, and let me tell you, that is no longer an offense that I’m impressed with. Derrick Henry is out, Julio Jones left last week with an injury (and frankly is too inconsistent to fear these days), and AJ Brown is out, as well. I’m not going to avoid this matchup because of Chester Rogers. Start the 49ers with confidence.

Miami Dolphins Defense

The Dolphins play the Saints this week and the way Miami has the ability to fly around and get turnovers, I like their chances against a Taysom Hill-led passing attack. Miami has a stout enough run defense where I believe they can take the lead and force Alvin Kamara into being a receiving threat only. The Saints only scored 9 points against Tampa last week, and I anticipate the Dolphins offense will be able to put up more points than a Bucs team without three of their four top receiving targets. The game script should favor the Dolphins defense.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense

Speaking of Tampa Bay, while they lost last week’s game against the Saints, it certainly wasn’t because of their defense. They held the Saints to nine points, and this was in part because they’re so difficult to run on. They stuffed Kamara and Taysom Hill, so there’s no doubt they can stuff Hubbard and Cam this week. The Panthers have no passing attack to speak of, and they’ll likely have to pass their way into a win, as I expect Tampa to get out to an early lead. While they may have to fight through injuries, I believe AB and Gronk will be enough for Brady. Heck, we might even see PJ Walker get some snaps. That’s good news for this Bucs defense.
