Fantasy Hockey Week 25 Waiver-Wire Defensemen

The waiver wire is a valuable way to add hidden gems and underrated players to your fantasy hockey club. This remains the case whether you plan to use them as short-term or long-term parts of your fantasy hockey roster. Now that we are in April, we have a strong understanding of which waiver-wire defensemen are worth adding. As a result, here are three waiver-wire defensemen worth taking a chance on in Week 25.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Defensemen to Consider for Week 25

Justin Faulk, St. Louis Blues

St. Louis Blues defenseman Justin Faulk is having a strong 2023-24 season. In 59 games, the 32-year-old defenseman has two goals to go along with 30 points. Overall, the veteran defenseman is continuing to produce well, while also staying dependable defensively. Because of this, he is certainly a waiver-wire defenseman to consider bringing in if he is still available in your league.

What is more encouraging about Faulk is that he is only seeming to heat up as the season continues to roll on. He has been on fire as of late, as he has three assists over his last two games and eight points over his last nine contests. That is marvelous offensive production from the point, and he’s a waiver-wire defender to consider adding this week because of it.

Josh Manson, Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche are one of the top teams in the NHL this season. A big reason for that has been their steady defensive play and great depth. Josh Manson has been a strong part of their blue line this season, as he has seven goals, 23 points, and a plus-11 rating in 70 games. Due to his all-around solid play this year, he is the kind of waiver-wire addition to make.

Manson has been starting to make a bigger impact down the stretch for the Avalanche, too. Besides being excellent defensively, his offensive game has also picked up. Over his last four games, the right-shot defender has two assists and a plus-2 rating. That is some strong production from the shutdown defenseman, and he’s worth adding as a waiver-wire pickup right now.

Owen Power, Buffalo Sabres

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power is expected to become a big-time star in the NHL. The 6-foot-6 defender was selected first overall at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft because of this, and he has shown promise already. In 71 games this season, he has six goals, 31 points, and a plus-8 rating. It has been a successful sophomore year for the youngster, and that alone makes him a good choice as a waiver-wire addition.

However, Power’s play has gotten even better as the season continues. Over his last four games, he has three assists to go along with a plus-6 rating. Seeing this kind of offense from the youngster is incredibly promising. Because of this, you would be wise to add him as a waiver-wire pickup if he is still available.

Nevertheless, it is clear that there are some good waiver-wire defensemen worth considering this week. It will be interesting to see how Faulk, Manson, and Power perform from here.
