Fantasy Hockey Week 25 Goalie Streams – 04/01/24

There are some great goalie options you can add to your fantasy team in week 25 of the 2023-24 NHL season. Whether it is because you need goaltenders for this week or potentially longer, we’ll provide you with the best ones to pick up. When looking for goalies to stream in fantasy hockey, it’s best to look at back-to-backs, if there are injuries to starters, or if a starter is struggling. This is a look at the three best goalie streams in Week 25 of the fantasy hockey season.

Fantasy Hockey Week 25 Goalie Streams

Casey DeSmith, Vancouver Canucks

Casey DeSmith will remain as the starter for the Vancouver Canucks for the time being as Thatcher Demko is on the LTIR. He is eligible to return on April 6, which is Saturday this week, but that doesn’t mean he will. In any case, DeSmith will still get at least one start to lead off the week in the first half of the team’s back-to-back games facing the Vegas Golden Knights. It isn’t the greatest matchup, but it could be worse.

DeSmith is 11-7-6 with a .900 SV% and one shutout this season, but since Demko is injured, the starting duties fall on the backup. The Canucks are a top team and while they aren’t playing amazing right now, they do have a good chance to win on any given night.

Alex Nedeljkovic, Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins are holding onto any hope they still have of making it into the playoffs, which means they are giving themselves the best chance to win every night. In net, that means starting Alex Nedeljkovic more, and Tristan Jarry, who has been the starter for most of the season, taking a seat on the bench.

Nedeljkovic has started four games in a row and Jarry hasn’t finished a game with over a .900 SV% since March 14 (5 appearances). The Penguins have four games this week and lead off the week with a back-to-back, so he will at least get you one start in the first two days of the week. After that, the Penguins match up against the Washington Capitals and the Tampa Bay Lightning. If Nedeljkovic at least draws the start against the Capitals, he will have a good chance to win. He should provide you with at least two starts for a desperate team that will be fighting hard to win.

Semyon Varlamov, New York Islanders

The New York Islanders have taken note of who is playing better between their goalies and giving them the best chance to win right now as this team is also fighting to make the playoffs. Semyon Varlamov has taken more starts from Ilya Sorokin this season because of the play of both of them, but recently, the Islanders have been going to Varlamov to help them win games.

Varlamov has started three of the past four games and won two of them, recording a .914 SV% or better in all three. The Islanders have a busy week against bad opponents, so expect Varlamov to not only get at least two of the four starts but win them. The Islanders face the Philadelphia Flyers, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Nashville Predators. While two of these teams are at the bottom of the standings, the others have struggled or started to.

Make sure to take advantage of these goalies for this week. The longer you wait, the more of a chance someone you may want is picked up before you get to them. There are early games that you will want to take advantage of as well. While a couple of these goaltenders should get at least one start this week, be sure to keep an eye on any other options throughout the week that may become solid options as well.
