Fantasy Hockey Week 15 Goalie Streams – 01/15/24

The 15th week of the 2023-24 NHL season is beginning and there are strong goalie options to add. Whether you need netminders for your fantasy hockey team this week or a bit longer, we’ll cover the best netminders to pick up. When looking for goalie streams in fantasy hockey, it’s best to look at back-to-backs and if there are injuries to starters. That’s what we have for you here today. This is a look at the three best options in net to stream in Week 15 of the fantasy hockey season.

Fantasy Hockey Week 15 Goalie Streams

Antti Raanta, Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes now have to lean on goaltender Antti Raanta for the time being as Pyotr Kochetkov was injured last week and is in concussion protocol. While Raanta was sent through waivers a little while ago because of poor play and then was quickly brought back up, he’s now 2-0-1 in his last three games played with a .928 save percentage.

With Frederik Andersen still out and Kochetkov now sidelined, the full-time duties in net land on Raanta. Even if he wasn’t doing so well, the Hurricanes would have to go with him in net. The team plays the Los Angeles Kings, Detroit Red Wings, and Minnesota Wild this week. The Kings have lost eight games in a row. The Red Wings are doing alright recently, but aren’t a very strong team. As for the Wild, they have lost four games in a row and won just two times in their last 10  games. This is a favourable week for Raanta and he should play all the games.

Nico Daws, New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils are right on the cusp of the playoffs, and it isn’t thanks to goaltender Vitek Vanecek, who is struggling this season. He sits at a .882 SV%, but the Devils have found someone who is impressing, Nico Daws. This young goaltender has now started four games and has solid numbers. With a 3-1-0 record, he also has a .916 SV%, much higher than the league average.

Daws has started three of the past five games, and for good reason. Vanecek has allowed four or more goals in two of his previous three starts, winning just once. With how tight of a race the Devils are in, they need wins by any means, and that means starting the hotter goalie. The team plays four times this week, so I expect two starts from Daws at the very least. The Devils face off against the Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Dallas Stars. Daws is in for a really good showing if he can manage to get in against the Canadiens, Blue Jackets, or even both.

Petr Mrázek, Chicago Blackhawks

Ever since the Chicago Blackhawks’ lineup started looking entirely like an AHL lineup after Connor Bedard got injured, they have stunned every team they’ve played. This doesn’t mean the Blackhawks have won all of their games since half of their salary in players were on the injured reserve, just that they have put up a major fight in every game.

As Bedard was injured in the game against the Devils, the Blackhawks have played four games, winning one, but only allowing nine goals in four games. You can thank the effort and Petr Mrázek’s performances for that. On a team with 12 wins in 43 games, he has 10 of them in 27 starts with a .904 SV%. He continues to be solid, and if you need starts and saves, this is where you’ll find it. As the Blackhawks play the San Jose Sharks, Buffalo Sabres, and New York Islanders, none of whom are doing well right now, there’s a chance at a win or even two for Mrazek.

Make sure to take advantage of these goalies for this week. The longer you wait, the more of a chance someone you may want is picked up before you get to them. There are early games that you will want to take advantage of as well. While a couple of these goaltenders should get at least one start this week, be sure to keep an eye on any other options throughout the week that may become solid options as well.
