Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 19

Welcome to week 19 of the fantasy basketball season! The NBA All-Star break has concluded so we are back to a normal one-week fantasy setting! It’s getting down to crunch time, so every move is crucial in the pursuit to the fantasy basketball playoffs! Rosters are pretty set after the trade deadline as well so there won’t be ton of surprises going forward. Keep an eye on the rookies and sophomores for teams at the bottom of the standings because the youth movement is here! Injuries also continue to take a toll on rosters opening up new opportunities. Here are four players set to make significant impact going forward on the waiver wire. Add away folks!

Week 19 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire

Malik Monk, SG – Sacramento Kings (46% rostered)

Malik Monk is on a scoring tear and needs to be added right away. The 25-year-old is enjoying his best year as a pro and just finished with a career-high 45 points Friday night. The shooting guard has now scored at least 15 points in seven of his last eight games not including a shortened game due to injury. Monk is averaging 22.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in six of his past seven games and has scored 17+ points in five of his past eight. Not too shabby baby! He’s a solid source of points, three pointers, and can chip in with a couple of rebounds and assists. Pick him up.

Marvin Bagley III, PF/C – Detroit Pistons (22% rostered)

Marvin Bagley III is back! Bagley returned after missing the last month and a half due to hand injury and dominated with 21 points, 18 rebounds and one block. Jalen Duren is dealing with an ankle injury and is out the next few games. One thing of note is it could have been James Wiseman that took over, but it was the Bagley show! Isaiah Stewart is also nursing a hip injury which opens up some minutes regardless here in Detroit. This frontcourt may get a tad crowded once everyone is healthy but, for now pick-up Bagley and see if he turns this into a starting role for the rest of the season. His last outing seeing over 25 minutes the big man posted 18-points and 10 rebounds. Too much potential here to pass on!

Luguentz Dort, SG/SF – Oklahoma City Thunder (48% rostered)

Luguentz Dort finds himself on the waiver wire once again! Dort consistently produces but never gets enough love and deserves more attention. The key change here is the Thunder lost some depth on trade deadline day increasing Dort’s minutes making him a great add. Dort is fresh off back-to-back double doubles seeing 36 minutes per-night. This is what happens when the minutes come in folks! Dort is averaging a very solid 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.3 3PTM in four of his past five games. Worth an add.

Josh Richardson, SG/SF – New Orleans Pelicans (30% rostered)

The Pelicans acquired Josh Richardson on deadline day for Devonte’ Graham and the veteran Richardson is starting to gel in N’Awlins drawing back-to-back starts. In those two starts, Richardson is averaging 13.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 3PTM and a cool 3.5 steals. J-Rich is a thief master since the trade posting 14 steals in four games since the trade. Richardson is just getting started here, so more comfortability should lead to even better results. I’m adding away!
