DuraMAX Drydene 400 at Dover: NASCAR DFS Picks

The field is set in Dover for the DuraMAX Drydene 400, and we have a much better understanding of how this might shake out this afternoon.

On Wednesday, our NASCAR preview discussed how different drivers would compare this 1-mile track to the previous few weeks of short tracks, dirt, and the longest superspeedway on the circuit. We also have the fourth first-time pole winner of the 2022 season. (If you needed more proof of how much these NextGen cars have evened up this field, you have it.)

Chris Buescher posted the best lap of 160.149 mph, while Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Ryan Blaney round out the Top 5. One of the race favorites, William Byron, lost his primary car during a practice session, leaving him starting 33rd and in his backup car.

DuraMAX Drydene 400 DFS Picks

First, let’s look at the most prominent values I see on the board in FanDuel and DraftKings.

FanDuel Values

DriverSalaryQP
Aric Almirola $5,00027
Erik Jones $5,00025
Chase Briscoe $8,50023
Ross Chastain $9,0007
Kyle Busch $9,50010
TOTAL $37,000

DraftKings Values

DriverSalaryQP
Cole Custer $6,10030
Aric Almirola $6,60027
Martin Truex Jr. $9,80018
William Byron $11,00033
Kyle Larson $11,8003
TOTAL $45,300

Aric Almirola appears to be a value pick on both sites. The No. 10 car has run well this season, and a QP of 27 gives him space to work the benefits of positional movement, which is a solid way to round out your rosters without breaking the bank.

On FanDuel, I am intrigued by the value of Kyle Busch with his modest salary of $9,500. In the last five races in Dover, the No. 18 car has finished in the Top 10 three times and Top 5 once. I also love Chase Briscoe at $8,500 to pair with Busch in a lineup on that site.

On DraftKings, Kyle Larson retains an extremely high-value salary, which is impressive since he is starting third. However, it seems like he is the guy to roster out of the Top 5 qualifying drivers. Martin Truex has been running well enough to justify his $9,800 price plus the qualifying position benefit of starting 18th.

Here are two lineups I plan to submit, one for each site. If you have any thoughts, questions, or bragging rights in a contest, reach out to me on Twitter at @thewonkypenguin. And, as always, good luck!
