Gameweek 25 Waiver Wire Targets

Here we outline Fantasy EPL Gameweek 25 Waiver Wire Targets that are 40% rostered or below on Fantrax.

Vladimir Coufal

Position: Defender

Team: West Ham United

Rostered: 34%

Next Fixture: Nottingham Forest (Home)

Prospects: West Ham defenders are rightly underrated given their allergy to clean sheets. But Coufal can produce ghost points – his ghosties per start average is close to 8 – and isn’t averse to nicking an assist. While the Hammers are rooted to the bottom 3 and in the middle of a true relegation scrap, they do have a good matchup on paper v Forest at home. Coufal will have a chance of getting a clean sheet to go with his usual ghost points and potential attacking return.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-3 FAB to get him.

Amadou Onana

Position: Midfielder

Team: Everton

Rostered: 15%

Next Fixture: Aston Villa (Home) & Arsenal (Away)

Prospects: Onana has had an interesting season. He stormed out of the gates at the beginning of the season, went through a bad spell, and is now looking to prove his worth to new manager Sean Dyche. He is now playing in a more advanced role under the former Burnley man and has been a bit boom or bust fantasy-wise. He delivered 12 ghost points v Arsenal in Dyche’s debut but followed that up with a disappointing 0.5 against Liverpool. His last match yielded 5 points before he came off early with a slight knock. He should be back in time for a double gameweek that gives him two bites at the apple, which is a great opportunity for him to deliver a decent floor of points but also an attacking return.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-3 FAB to get him.

Matheus Cunha

Position: Forward

Team: Wolves

Ownership: 18%

Next Fixture: Fulham (Away) & Liverpool (Away)

Prospects:  The Wolves’ #9 position has been a poisoned chalice since Raul Jimenez’s heyday a few years back. The West Midlands club has now gone a staggering 33 games since a striker has scored a goal. Enter Matheus Cunha, who came over from Atletico Madrid in January to solve this problem. He has yet to do it but has two chances this gameweek to break this duck. Even if he doesn’t find the back of the net, he should bag at least ten points, which isn’t a bad haul for a FWD off waivers.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-3 FAB to get him.
