Draft Fantasy Soccer Week 7 Ranks

Christian Eriksen injured, Paul Pogba in a fallout with Jose Mourinho, and Aaron Ramsey facing contract issues. Just another day for a fantasy soccer manager leading up to the draft fantasy soccer week seven ranks.

Sean and I have joined forces to give you a comprehensive list of players to choose from in this weekend’s ranks but one of the bigger questions facing managers is what to do with Liverpool and Chelsea assets as they face off at Stamford Bridge this weekend. Simply put I see a major risk in any defender not named Trent Alexander Arnold or Marcos Alonso as both teams are capable of scoring three goals on each other, more so if Virgil van Dijk doesn’t feature, but center backs are a no no here.

Owning attackers I’d play any of them because they’ll get their chances but the midfield is where things get dicey. James Milner is realistically the only surefire starter in fantasy lineups unless Shaqiri gets another runout. Chelsea’s midfield is good for advancing the ball but has been awful for fantasy purposes due to all goals and assists coming from forwards and Alonso outside of week one that saw Jorginho and Kante net attacking returns. Sarriball doesn’t bode well for midfielders in Fantrax unless Chelsea plays Ruben Loftus-Cheek but I won’t hold my breath there.

Aguero, Kane, or bust this week as I can find things to nitpick with almost every forward and couldn’t tell you where the Chelsea – Liverpool matchup will go. I do like Fulham attackers and Everton attackers in what will likely be the shootout of the week. Watch Vydra this week as well because if he nails down a spot in the Burnley attack, going forward he will be a very useful asset.

Midfielders

At this point, ranking midfielders is becoming a headache. David Silva is a rotational player Unai Emery likes playing with our emotions and Mourinho has killed Paul Pogba. That said, Midfield is a deep dark place and the best options are those that were had in the late rounds of drafts. Seri, Fraser, and Moutinho will win managers their leagues but the name to watch this weekend if he’s healthy is Tom Cairney. Fulham’s true CAM is back in training and should be owned in all leagues.

Defenders

The year of the fullback… Blah blah blah. Enough has been said here. Willy Boly, James Tarkowski, Nicolas Otamendi and other centerbacks demand your respect. They are still here and with good matchups this weekend, they will flourish.
