Draft Fantasy Soccer: Fantasy Stat Leaders

Most draft fantasy soccer managers will be aware that Eden Hazard is leading this season’s top goalscorer rankings with seven goals so far this season. Some may also be able to tell you that Alisson and Ederson lead the league in clean sheets with six. There may even be a few that know that Callum Wilson has the most assists to his name with Seven. But which defender has won the most tackles? Here is a list of this season’s stat leaders in each position.

Stat Leaders for Draft Fantasy Soccer Categories

Most Saves – Joe Hart

Burnley may have conceded the fourth most goals in the league campaign so far but that hasn’t stopped Joe Hart from accumulating the third most points for a goalkeeper. This is largely due to his whopping 41 saves, four more than his nearest rival, Lukasz Fabianski. Hart is proof that you don’t need a goalkeeper who stands behind a solid defense to score fantasy points.

Most Key Passes – Gylfi Siggurdson

Gylfi has had an incredible fantasy turnaround this season and is currently the third highest scoring fantasy player. He could have been even higher had he not been substituted in the first half in week 1 after Jagielka was sent off. His points total is in part due to his four goals but mainly due to his 27 Key Passes. He has certainly benefited from playing in his favored central position after playing most of last season in wider positions.

Most Tackles won – Aaron Wan-Bissaka

After breaking through to the Palace first team last season, Wan-Bissaka has been a regular starter so far this year. He is currently the 18th highest scoring defender after making 25 successful tackles, 10 more than the third highest number.

Most Clearances – Steve Cook

It’s not too surprising that Steve Cook has made the most clearances so far this season after averaging the 10th highest last season. The most surprising thing is just how many he has made. With 74 in 9 games, he is well on his way to beat last year’s highest total of 320 by Shane Duffy.

Most Aerials won – Sean Morrison & Sam Vokes

Morrison and Vokes may play different positions but their ability in the air is very similar with 61 aerials won so far. While they lead this ranking, special mention must go to Callum Paterson who has managed 58 but in two games less.

Most Accurate Crosses – Keiron Trippier

After having to share game time with Aurier last season, Trippier is now relishing the first team opportunity he has been given. His 13 successful crosses are a league-high and have helped him to tally up three assists so far. One player worth noting in this category is Chris Lowe who is second on this list with 11 successful crosses. If Huddersfield can stop leaking goals, he may be a valuable pick up on the cheap

Most Interceptions – Etienne Capoue

With N’Golo Kante playing in a more advanced position at Chelsea this year, the rest of the league can once again compete in this statistic. Leading the way so far is Capoue with 29. With the fifth most tackles also, Capoue offers a reasonable floor for fantasy returns

Most Successful Dribbles – Adama Traore

Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, Adama Traore is the league leader in successful dribbles with 27, two more than Hazard. The incredible part is obviously the fact that he has done this without starting a single game. His time will surely come. If you currently have him, hold onto him draft fantasy soccer.

Most Shots on Target – Mo Salah

He might not have reached the dizzy heights that he set last season but that doesn’t mean Mo Salah has been an attacking threat for Liverpool. His 15 shots on target is a league-high and if he manages to increase his conversion rate only slightly he will once again be leading the goal charts. Sergio Aguero actually leads the league in shots but has only managed 14 on target.
