Week 6 NFL Player Props for Sunday Night Football

To a degree, this is going to be an ever-evolving endeavor throughout the week. As you prepare for Sunday Night Football, there will always be specific plays you like and wish to target. NFL player props will stand out to you, and at the moment, you should capitalize on them. As news changes throughout the week, these markets will move as well, so lock in your player prop picks as you see them.

Each week, I will take a look at four NFL player prop targets on DraftKings for Sunday Night Football and provide some commentary about them. Please be aware though, that these are subject to market movements.

NFL Player Props

Tyrod Taylor Under 184.5 Passing Yards, -115

The New York Giants are simply a mess. Their offensive line is missing at least two key pieces and they are two weeks removed from allowing 11 sacks. Daniel Jones never had a chance, and it is surprising he made it through five weeks without getting injured.

To say that it is a one-sided matchup against the Buffalo Bills is quite an understatement. The fact that it is primetime in Buffalo with the Bills coming off a loss only heightens things.

Tyrod Taylor will likely have less than no time to throw; if that is even possible. At this point though, if it is possible, the Giants are the perfect candidate for that to be the case. While Tyrod Taylor is a solid backup quarterback, Jones is still the better option. And even with the Giants constantly playing from behind, Jones only eclipsed 137 passing yards in two of five weeks. In one of those games, he hit 203 passing yards with the other game being New York’s lone victory against Arizona.

With that being said, the target here with my player props is the under on Taylor’s passing yards at 184.5. The Giants simply won’t be able to control the ball enough or give Taylor enough time to through.

James Cook Over 59.5 Rushing Yards, -115

The game script is going to be key here. With the expectation that the outcome will be determined by the time we reach the second quarter, our player props are bound to reflect that.

While James Cook entered the season with a fair amount of expectations, but it has been and and down at best for him to this point. Last week was certainly the bottom for Cook as he lost four yards on five carries. Facing the Giants this week though is the perfect opportunity for Cook to find his groove. From a fantasy football perspective, New York is in the top five of points allowed to opposing running backs so far this season.

Cook does have games of 123 and 98 rushing yards, so the upside is there. With the Bills likely in a clock management situation for the majority of the evening, Cook is in a good spot to surpass 59.5 rushing yards.

Latavius Murray Anytime Touchdown, +400

If the Bills are going to win big on Sunday and shift to the ground game, it only makes sense that it will be the scoring in the second half. Once we get to that point in the game, it doesn’t behoove Buffalo to put Josh Allen in harm’s way. That means the short-yardage work will likely go to Latavius Murray.

Through the first five weeks of the season, the veteran has emerged as the number two running back behind Cook. With two touchdowns already this season, Murray is also serving as the short-yardage threat. With that being said, the expectation is that we will see a good amount of Murray in the fourth quarter and at the goal line throughout the night. At +2000, Murray is also a good a bet as any to close out the scoring from a touchdown perspective.

Leonard Floyd Over 0.75 Sacks, -130

After breaking down how bad the Giants’ offensive line is, it only makes sense to target a Buffalo pass rusher. The Bills should have no problem getting to Taylor as the backup likely will not stand a chance.

Leonard Floyd has 5.5 sacks so far on the season with sacks in three of five games. We know that Buffalo is going to rush the passer, and Floyd likely won’t meet much in the way of resistance.
