Fantasy Hockey Week 6 Waiver-Wire Defensemen

The waiver wire is a wonderful way to add hidden gems and overlooked players to your fantasy hockey club. Whether you plan to have them as short-term or long-term parts of your fantasy roster, this is true. Now that we are a month into the season, we better understand which waiver-wire defensemen are worth snagging. As a result, here are three waiver-wire defensemen worth scooping up in Week 6.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Defensemen to Consider for Week 6

Filip Hronek, Vancouver Canucks

If Filip Hronek is still available in your fantasy hockey league, pick him up immediately. The 26-year-old has been remarkable for the Canucks this season, as he has 16 assists and a plus-13 rating in 15 games. With that, he has been the model of consistency, as he is on a 10-game point streak at the time of this writing. This is exactly the kind of waiver-wire defenseman you want on your fantasy hockey club.

Hronek is benefitting from playing on a Canucks team with several hot players. While expecting him to maintain a point-per-game pace for the whole season is unreasonable, he is well on his way to having a career-best campaign. Thus, if he is still being overlooked in your league, snag him up.

Travis Sanheim, Philadelphia Flyers

During the offseason, Travis Sanheim was the subject of trade rumors. The 27-year-old had a down year for the Flyers, posting 23 points in 81 games. However, he has been sensational at the start of this season, as he has had two goals and 14 points in 15 games. He has looked like a true number-one defenseman, so he is a clear waiver-wire addition to bring in if available.

Like Hronek, expecting Sanheim to continue producing at such a high rate is a tall ask. However, he should continue to provide decent offense as the year rolls on. With that, his defensive play has been significantly better. As a result, he is a big waiver-wire defenseman worth adding in Week 6.

Sean Durzi, Arizona Coyotes

Sean Durzi is an immensely underrated defenseman. It does not help that he plays for a small-market team, the Arizona Coyotes, either. However, there is no denying that he has talent, and he is showing it significantly this season. The 25-year-old has five goals and 10 points in 14 games and is proving to be a big addition to their roster. With that, he has three points in his last three games. Due to this, he is another waiver-wire defenseman to add if available.

Durzi is benefitting from having a bigger role with the Coyotes, and this should continue as the year rolls on. Because of this, he is a must-have waiver-wire addition if managers in your league still do not have him picked.

Nevertheless, it is clear that fantasy managers have some nice waiver-wire defenseman options to pick from in Week 6. Landing one of Hronek, Sanheim, or Durzi at this point of the campaign would be massive. It will be fun to see how long they are able to keep their hot starts up from here.
