Fantasy Hockey Week 23 Waiver Wire Forwards – 03/19/24

The fantasy hockey waiver wire is the best place to find players every week who will help your fantasy hockey team win, whether it be for the short term or the long term. You have probably already taken advantage of this strategy all year in fantasy hockey. As there are every week, there will be strong options on the waiver wire at forward that we will look at. Whether it is only for a few games, these players are worth adding to help your team out. This is the place where you can find great options to take advantage of before anyone else does.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 23

Yegor Sharangovich, Calgary Flames

The Calgary Flames have a bit of an odd schedule. While they play on the first day of the week, the team doesn’t play again until a back-to-back on the weekend, so adding someone from the Flames could be a good late-week move. That being said, Yegor Sharangovich has been a very nice addition to Calgary’s team this season and has 28 goals to go along with 50 points on the season.

The two areas where Sharangovich won’t help your fantasy team are with penalty minutes and hits, but he is great everywhere else, especially lately. In his past nine games, the young forward has eight goals and 12 points. On top of that, he has 12 blocks in the past seven games and a lot of shots. Despite lining up on the third line at the moment, he gets lots of opportunity and some power play time to produce there as well.

Tyler Johnson, Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks have been scoring quite a bit lately, and almost all of it is coming from the top line. While Connor Bedard won’t be available, his winger Tyler Johnson will definitely be. Not only has the top line been doing a lot of damage, the power play, which has most of the same personnel, is also scoring.

Johnson has recorded three goals and eight points in his previous six games and five of those points have come on the power play. This week is easier for the Blackhawks as well since they visit the California teams playing the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and then the San Jose Sharks who they just stomped. I expect the top line to continue carrying the Blackhawks and they have three good opportunities to stay hot.

Jake DeBrusk, Boston Bruins

Jake DeBrusk is playing for a new contract in the offseason, wherever that may be. This means that his recent play is important to get the best deal for himself. After going on a long cold stretch, the Boston Bruins are playing better with DeBrusk being a big contributor to that success. He has four goals and nine points in his last seven games while playing on the top line at the moment.

Two of the three Bruins’ games this week come against struggling teams who have been allowing lots of goals. The Ottawa Senators are their first matchup of the week, followed by the New York Rangers and then the Philadelphia Flyers. The Bruins are a top team and DeBrusk hasn’t just produced offensively. He has been forced to do other things to continue to be impactful, and it has all stayed with him now that he’s finding the scoresheet. Expect him to shoot, hit, and block shots as well.

Players that may seem like great waiver wire pickups could fade quickly, while others could turn out to be great for a long time. These three players appear to be strong options in Week 23 of the fantasy hockey season among those who should be available.
