Fantasy Hockey Week 13 Goalie Streams – 01/01/24

The 13th week of the 2023-24 NHL season is beginning and there are strong goalie options to add. Whether you need options for your fantasy hockey team this week or a longer term, we’ll cover the best netminders to pick up. When looking for goalie streams in fantasy hockey, it’s best to look at back-to-backs and if there are injuries to starters. That’s what we have for you here today. This is a look at the three best options in net to stream in Week 13 of the fantasy hockey season.

Fantasy Hockey Week 13 Goalie Streams

Karel Vejmelka, Arizona Coyotes

The Arizona Coyotes continue to impress and Karel Vejmelka is showing why he’s still a big part of the team. Connor Ingram seemed to have taken over the net before Vejmelka put up back-to-back shutouts against the Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres and has now won four games in a row.

The Coyotes play three games this week, all against pretty good opponents. That doesn’t mean they are immune to good goaltending though. The team has won two in a row and six of the past seven. They are a good team as well. Whether Vejmelka gets one or two starts, I’m counting on a strong performance in which he battles. The Coyotes play the Florida Panthers, New York Islanders, and Winnipeg Jets, but he has a .939 SV% over his past four starts.

Samuel Ersson, Philadelphia Flyers

Samuel Ersson has started to get more starts for the surprising Philadelphia Flyers. He and Carter Hart have split the net more than expected this season. Ersson is 9-4-1 in 14 starts and has a .902 SV% with two shutouts on the season. With the Flyers being a strong team, it is more likely than not that he earns wins in his starts.

Nine of his 14 starts have also been quality starts, meaning he’s likely going to positively impact your goalie stats. He has won four of his past five starts with a .934 SV% and a shutout. The Flyers face the Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Calgary Flames. That isn’t a very tough schedule, and if he can avoid starting against the Oilers, he will have a strong week for your fantasy hockey team.

Laurent Brossoit, Winnipeg Jets

Due to there being a lack of injuries around the league and the schedule packing three days of the week, there aren’t very many teams with opportunities for their backup goalies. In this case, I give you the option of Laurent Brossoit of the Winnipeg Jets. The one back-to-back the Jets have in the middle of the week is against the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks. Both should be wins, so you could benefit here on Thursday or Friday and add another goalie option for the weekend.

Brossoit started on Sunday against the Minnesota Wild, so I don’t believe it is realistic to think he will get two starts this week. Not with how well Connor Hellebuyck has played either. Brossoit has strong numbers and the matchup he will have comes at an ideal time and against an ideal opponent. He’s won two of his last three starts with a .929 SV% or more in each of them.

Make sure to take advantage of these goalies for this week. The longer you wait, the more of a chance someone you may want is picked up before you get to them. There are early games that you will want to take advantage of as well. While a couple of these goaltenders should get at least one start this week, be sure to keep an eye on any other options throughout the week that may become solid options as well.
