Fantasy Hockey Week 10 Waiver-Wire Defensemen

The waiver wire is a great way to add hidden gems and overlooked players to your fantasy hockey club. This remains true whether you plan to have them as short-term or long-term parts of your fantasy hockey roster. Now that we are two months into the season, we better understand which waiver-wire defensemen are worth snagging. As a result, here are three waiver-wire defensemen worth adding to your roster in Week 10.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Defensemen to Consider for Week 10

Josh Manson, Colorado Avalanche

Josh Manson had an incredibly slow start offensively this season. He had just one assist in his first 19 games of the year. However, the 32-year-old has now broken the ice and is on fire. Over his last five games, he has two goals and five points. With that, he has been very reliable defensively. Because of this, he is a waiver-wire defenseman to take a chance on.

Manson has shown in the past that he can make an impact offensively. While his numbers have dropped over the years, perhaps this hot streak indicates a turnaround is coming. Five points in five games as a defenseman is not an easy feat, so don’t be afraid to snag him as a waiver-wire addition while he remains hot.

Jake McCabe, Toronto Maple Leafs

Jake McCabe is another notable waiver-wire defenseman to consider adding for Week 10. The 30-year-old has been playing excellently, both in terms of offense and defense. Over his last four games, the Wisconsin native has three assists with a plus-4 rating. He also played over 23 minutes in three of those games, becoming a crucial part of Toronto’s blue line.

McCabe has had a slow start to the season offensively, posting zero goals and four assists in 18 games. However, he has looked a lot better since coming back from injury and is now starting to increase his offensive production. While he may not be the biggest name in the sport, fantasy managers should not overlook him. He has the potential to be a steal of a waiver-wire addition if he continues to produce.

Mike Reilly, New York Islanders

After being placed on waivers by the Florida Panthers, Mike Reilly was claimed by the New York Islanders. With Adam Pelech and Sebastian Aho out, they needed a left-shot defenseman immediately and brought in Reilly. So far, this move has been excellent for both the team and the player. Reilly is starting to heat up big time, as he has one goal and four points over his last three games. Thus, he is worth bringing in as a waiver-wire addition.

Reilly has had a tough go of things these last two seasons. However, he also showed back in 2020-21 that he can be an offensive threat, posting 27 points in 55 games. Due to this, don’t be afraid to take a chance on him as a waiver-wire pickup while he’s hot.

Nevertheless, Week 10 offers some solid waiver-wire defensemen to consider. It will be fun to see how well these three play from here.
