Fantasy Hockey Week 10 Goalie Streams – 12/11/23

The tenth week of the 2023-24 NHL season is beginning and there are good goalie options to add. Whether you need options for your fantasy hockey team this week or a longer term, we’ll cover the best netminders to add. When looking for goalie streams in fantasy hockey, it’s best to look at back-to-backs and if there are injuries to starters. That’s what we have for you here today. This is a look at the three best options in net to stream in Week 10 of the fantasy hockey season.

Fantasy Hockey Week 10 Goalie Streams

Karel Vekmelka, Arizona Coyotes

The Arizona Coyotes have an interesting week ahead of them. They have two back-to-backs. The first comes on Monday and Tuesday, while the second is Friday and Saturday. Despite how well Connor Ingram has been playing this season, this week will require Karel Vejmelka to start two games. Maybe it’s his opportunity to get back in the good books of the team and earn more starts moving forward with a couple of strong performances.

It really doesn’t matter which goalie starts which game this week for the Coyotes. They play the Buffalo Sabres twice, one time in each back-to-back, and both the Pittsburgh Penguins and San Jose Sharks. All three teams have a negative record. I could see Vejmalka getting the first start on Monday so that Ingram gets the slightly more difficult matchup in the Penguins. Then judging from that, Vejmelka either faces the Sabres again later in the week or gets the easier Sharks matchup. He has a .892 save percentage (SV%) on the season and his last game came on Nov. 22. He will be dying to prove himself.

Semyon Varlamov, New York Islanders

The New York Islanders have been doing very well recently and have taken over a playoff spot. That being said, they have done it on the backs of both goaltenders. Ilya Sorokin is still the starter, but Semyon Varlamov has played great this season and is starting every third game or so. Since he didn’t start the last game for the Islanders, that means he could realistically get starts in two of the four games this week.

The Islanders matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, and Montreal Canadiens. It is almost guaranteed that Varlamov gets one of the back-to-back starts at the end of the week, and he could see another easier matchup against the Ducks as well. This would be two very strong chances to win for the Islanders and Varlamov. Best take advantage early of this possibility as he also has a .925 SV% and two shutouts on the season.

Joey Daccord, Seattle Kraken

The Seattle Kraken starter, Philipp Grubauer, suffered a lower-body injury later last week. This forced Joey Daccord right into the spotlight and to serve as the starter for the time being. In his first outing as the team’s current starter, he played well against the Minnesota Wild. He isn’t starting behind the best team, but he will likely be the goaltender that you get the most starts out of on the waiver wire.

The Kraken play three games this week and they are spread out. This means that the Kraken could very well just start Daccord in all three games. Two of the three games will be tough when the Kraken battle the Florida Panthers and Los Angeles Kings. But they also have a mid-week matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks. Daccord is for the fantasy owners who need someone to get them starts. Daccord should be able to do that this week at the very least. I expect one win from him, but he and the Kraken could surprise with more.

Make sure to take advantage of these goalies for this week. The longer you wait, the more of a chance someone you may want is picked up before you get to them. There are early games that you will want to take advantage of as well. While a couple of these goaltenders should get at least one start this week, be sure to keep an eye on any other options throughout the week that may become solid options as well.
