Fantasy Football 2023: Week 8 Wide Receiver Sleepers and Streamers

All in all, this sleepers and streamers article has delivered some great hits this season. Rashee Rice has delivered two good performances in consecutive weeks. In Week 7, Rice had a touchdown and has had three straight weeks of double-digit fantasy outings. Rice has earned streamer consideration and is the Kansas City Chiefs WR1.

With that being said, here are the wide receivers sleepers and streamers for Week 8 of the NFL season.

Week 8 Wide Receiver sleepers and streamers

Wide Receiver Sleepers

Kendrick Bourne @ Miami Dolphins

First things first, the New England Patriots decided to let Jakobi Meyers walk and sign Juju Smith-Schuster to the same contract Meyers signed in Las Vegas. Now, Smith-Schuster is on pace for the worst season of his career and Kendrick Bourne has emerged as the team’s WR1.

Bourne on the other hand is on pace for the best season of his career. Currently, Bourne is 19th in targets among receivers and has 51 targets in seven games thus far. Bourne’s career high in targets was 74 targets in 15 games during the 2020 season. Safe to say that Bourne will come close to 100 targets and is the WR31 in ppg. Bourne faces a Miami Dolphins team that has been decimated by injuries. Not only are the Dolphins still without Jalen Ramsey, they did not have Xaiven Howard as he is now dealing with an injury, too. Look for the most upside when it comes to sleepers and streamers and Bourne presents a very high upside.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba vs. Cleveland Browns

Fantasy managers across the globe enjoyed Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s Week 7 performance. Smith-Njigba had the best performance of his young career with 16.3 fantasy points, 63 yards, on seven targets, and catching four of them. Yes, DK Metcalf did miss the game and Tyler Lockett had just a four-catch game for 38 yards. Smith-Njigba finally did what everyone has been waiting for since the season started.

Now, a Week 8 match-up against the Cleveland Browns awaits Smith-Njigba. The Browns just allowed over 300 passing yards to Gardner Minshew in Week. That translated to 125 yards to Josh Downs and 83 yards for Michael Pittman Jr. Metcalf will be back more than likely, but seeing what we saw from Smith-Njigba is nothing but amazing. Aim for Smith-Njigba in your line-up as talent will always produce with given opportunities.

Wide Receiver streamers

Rashee Rice @ Denver Broncos

At this point, I might become a Rashee Rice stan account. For two consecutive weeks, he has delivered for sleepers and streamers. This time, Rice finds himself on the streamer side of things. Rice, has become the WR1 for the Chiefs as I have stated numerous times. He delivered over 15 fantasy points in Week 7 against one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. In Week 8, Rice has a chance to replicate that with a match-up against another bottom-five pass defense, the Denver Broncos.

Stream Rashee Rice with confidence and expect another double-digit outing with another top-20 finish. Once again, Rashee Rice is my favorite receiver in sleepers and streamers and more than likely will continue to produce top 30 numbers.

Michael Thomas @ Indianapolis Colts

Michael Thomas’ days as an elite WR1 are long gone, but the volume is there. Thomas has seen over six targets in every game. He has seen nine targets in two games, eight targets in another two games, and a game with seven targets. The good thing for fantasy is that the Saints are not a good football team and their games are constantly competitive besides their blowout loss to the Buccaneers.

Derek Carr has the fifth most pass attempts through seven weeks of football and has thrown 105 passes in the past two games combined. Safe to say that Carr will pass at a high level with Chris Olave and Michael Thomas being his top two choices. Although the Browns had just 183 total receiving yards against the Colts, that was with PJ Walker as the quarterback.
