*Disclaimer: These picks have been constructed with the mindset of building a single lineup. When building large field/multi-entry tournaments, if the player sees the field you’ll want to have a piece of him somewhere, my “busts” included.*

Captain

T.J. Hockenson

DraftKings Captain Salary- $14,100

When Kirk Cousins went down in Week 8 against the Packers, the thought was that the season was a wrap. Fantasy football managers “stuck” with Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson had legitimate reasons to wonder if their early season investments were for all for nothing. That all changed for me when the Vikings traded for Joshua Dobbs. For starters, it showed the team’s commitment to finishing off the season strong. Joshua Dobbs had been extremely serviceable during his tenure in Arizona, often making something out of nothing. To the delight of Hockenson and company, that fine play has carried over to Minnesota. In fact, Hockenson enjoyed his most productive outing of the season last week with Dobbs under center. The new signal caller obviously loves his tight end. Last week Hockenson was targeted a team-high 15 times. He caught 11 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown. This wasn’t random either, seeing as Hockenson had received 12 targets the week prior. He’s likely to be the most involved member of the Vikings tonight on SNF.

Core Play

Joshua Dobbs

DraftKings Salary- $10,600

Can you tell I like Dobbs for SNF tonight? The whole first section that I dedicated to Hockenson was basically a glowing endorsement of Joshua Dobbs. The journeyman has been super solid for the Vikings in his first two appearances, leading his team to victory in both matchups. Dobbs has been everything that the Vikings could have asked for out of a replacement QB in the middle of the season. Dobbs has been taking care of the football, recording zero interceptions during his time in a purple jersey. Perhaps most impressive though is what Dobbs has been able to get done on the ground. His rushing floor has fantasy enthusiasts everywhere taking notice. Joshua Dobbs has now gone four straight games with a rushing touchdown. He also has at least 40 rushing yards in 4 of his last 5 games. I’m confident that Dobbs will pay off even with the highest salary among active players tonight.

Value

Ty Chandler

DraftKings Salary- $7,000

At the point of this article being written, Alexander Mattison is still questionable for SNF with a concussion. While it is likely that he does make his return, I still believe that Ty Chandler is the running back you want out of the two tonight. At $7000 on DK, Chandler is the cheaper runner and may have the larger role tonight. Before his injury, Mattison was being out-touched by Chandler. Chandler also scored his touchdown with Mattison still in the game. It has been an up-and-down season for Alexander. The team saw fit to let Dalvin Cook walk, but Mattison has not been nearly as productive as their star once was. This has opened the door for Tyson Chandler to get more looks in the running game. After going for 45 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, Chandler has perhaps found himself a role moving forward.

Sleeper

Samaje Perine

DraftKings Salary- $3,200

Samaje Perine has quietly worked his way back into the Denver Broncos running back conversation. Recently he had been ceding snaps to rookie runner Jaleel McLaughlin, who shined in relief of Javonte Williams earlier in the year. However, in the last two weeks, PSNFerine has out-snapped McLaughlin. Perine has snap percentages of 33%, 25%, and 24% compared to McLaughlin’s 15%, 17% and 11%. DK has finally caught up, making Perine the more expensive of the two backup running backs for tonight’s SNF contest on DraftKings. At $3,200 Perine is the lowest salaried player that I’m confident in taking a stab at tonight.

SNF Bust

Jerry Jeudy

DraftKings Salary- $7,800

Jerry Juedy is priced right below his “running” mate Courtland Sutton. A steep price considering what Juedy has done so far this season. Nothing. To this point Jerry Juedy has scored just one touchdown, which came in Week 8’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The young receiver has not topped 81 receiving yards nor has he gotten more than 7 targets in a single game this season. Russell Wilson has made it clear which receiver he prefers. Last week’s game marks the second time this season that Courtland Sutton has been targeted 11 times. The Denver Broncos seem to have found a winning formula that revolves around controlling the clock and running the football. At this point, Juedy doesn’t into his team’s plans. You can find better ways to allocate your salary tonight.
