SNF NFL DFS Picks

*Disclaimer: These picks have been constructed with the mindset of building a single lineup. When building large field/multi-entry tournaments, if the player sees the field you’ll want to have a piece of him somewhere, my “busts” included.

Captain

Joe Burrow

DraftKings Captain Salary- $15,300

He’s back baby! Joe Burrow got off to a rocky start this year. The calf injury that limited him the first few weeks of the season seems to be fully behind him. The fourth, yes fourth, cheapest player on the single-game slate, you can roster a SNF, primetime Joe Shiesty at a bargain! I’m excited about this because it seems that the bigger the game, the better Burrow plays. Underdogs last week against the San Francisco 49ers, Joey B absolutely shined completing an insane 28 of 32 pass attempts for 283 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

Burrow might have the best supporting cast in the league. His number one option Ja’Marr Chase has been phenomenal as of late. The Bengals have yet to unlock Tee Higgins this season, however, Tyler Boyd has scored in two straight games. The same can be said for rookie WR Andrei Iosivas, who has done it on just one target each time. With the calf issue behind him, we saw Joe Cool pick up 43 rushing yards on 6 attempts last week. Last week was a measuring stick game, you could make the argument that this game is just as important. Look for Joe Brrr to do whatever it takes to try and secure a victory tonight on SNF.

Core Play

Stefon Diggs

DraftKings Salary- $11,000

Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo could decide to throw all 11 defenders on Stefon Diggs. I can promise you that Diggs would still throw a fit Josh Allen didn’t pepper him with targets. Since we’re on the subject of targets, let me remind you of Stefon Diggs’ last four games: 12 targets, 12, targets, 16 targets, and 11 targets. The all-pro wideout has been worth every single target, posting 100+ yards in 5 contests this season. He hasn’t gone over 70 yards in two straight matchups, however, there’s reason to believe that he eclipses that total on SNF.

While it may have been in an attempt to limit Christian McCaffrey on the ground, the Bengals’ secondary was an absolute sieve last week. Although Purdy struggled, he still managed to have two receivers go over 100 yards. This is a nice spot for Diggs to get back into the box score. The Bengals-Bills matchup is starting to shake up as quite the rivalry. Diggs (90 total targets) will obviously be highly involved again in this SNF game, which is tied with the Chiefs-Dolphins Germany game for the highest over/under at 50.5 points.

Value

Dalton Kincaid

DraftKings Salary- $6,800

Ever since Dawson Knox (wrist) was placed on IR, Dalton Kincaid has really turned up. Kincaid (34) is currently third on the team in terms of targets, trailing only Stefon Diggs (90), and Gabe Davis (47). Dalton Kincaid has had back-to-back productive games. In Week 8 against the Patriots, Kincaid caught all 8 of his targets for 75 yards, good for 15.5 DK points. Just last week against the Buccaneers, Kincaid reeled in 5 of 7 balls for 65 yards and his first career touchdown.

The Bengals DST have been fairly vulnerable to the tight end this season. Kincaid could be in for quite the workload on SNF. Don’t believe me? Please refer to the graph pictured below:

Week 2Mark Andrews45 yards1 TD
Week 3Tyler Higbee71 yards0 TD
Week 4Josh Whyle26 yards1 TD
Week 8George Kittle149 yards0 TD

Sleeper

Leonard Fournette

DraftKings Salary- $200

The Buffalo Bills signed Leonard Fournette to the practice squad earlier in this week. The move wasn’t all that surprising considering that the Bills have basically been rotating James Cook and Latavius Murray to this point. Murray has averaged a paltry 3.6 yards on 40 carries this season. While he’s primarily been the goal line/short yardage guy, the low average is still hurting the Bills offense. It really wouldn’t be shocking to see an active Fournette work into this offense right away. Fournette offers an intriguing skill set. Mostly known for his excellence in the passing game, Fournette can also be an efficient runner in between the tackles. That kind of versatility is exactly what the Bills need to keep their opponents guessing when they reach the red zone. At the DraftKings salary minimum of $200, Leonard Fournette will pay off his salary if he even makes eye contact with Josh Allen. There’s obvious risk involved with starting Fournette, there’s always a chance that he doesn’t see the field. Make sure that Leonard Fournette is active for SNF before plugging him into your lineups.

SNF Bust

Joe Mixon

DraftKings Salary- $8,000

I’ve been dreading this moment. The moment where I have to make a complete ass out of myself and give you one player to avoid on MNF, the dreaded bust. I can’t lie, I struggled to find anybody “worthy” of the label tonight. I feel that for the most part, everyone is appropriately priced for their roles and likely production. $8000 DK dollars for Joe Mixon, might just be a bit of a stretch though. Mixon is coming off of a very productive game against a really tough San Francisco 49ers run defense. He was awarded 16 carries which he took for 87 yards and a score. Mixon also added three catches for 23 yards.

While he enjoyed a nice week in his return to his hometown, that performance may have been an outlier in an otherwise underwhelming season for the talented running back. News flash, the Bengals’ offensive line, while much improved, still isn’t great.  Running room has been hard to come by for Mixon. The 87 yards last week was his highest total of the season. His next three highest rushing totals are 81, 67, and 65. Mixon also only has a pair of touchdowns so far this season. Depending on which Bengals team shows up tonight, Mixon could get phased out of the game plan if the Bengals are forced into comeback mode. There are other salary savers to consider instead of playing Mixon.
