Fantasy Football 2023: Week 9 Wide Receiver Rankings

We are getting close to the playoffs which means you need to take a look at my Week 9 wide receiver rankings. Last week A.J. Brown continued his fantasy dominance, dropping 29 fantasy points. Also, Ja’Marr Chase and the Bengals look like they are about to get hot.

Tyreek Hill continued his hot streak as the number-one fantasy receiver and DeAndre Hopkins had a vintage performance dropping 32.8 fantasy points. Let’s see how they all rank going into Week 9.

Wide Receiver Notes

  • Adam Thielen is my WR10 for the week. I know it is surprising to see Thielen this high, but he has been balling as of late. He also has the Colts this week who are giving up just under 30 fantasy points to wide receivers. He is averaging 8.1 targets a game and as of the last three weeks, he is averaging 10 targets a game. Volume turns into high scoring and Thielen has done just that. Start him this week with confidence.
  • Chris Olave is my WR20 this week. Though he could be a bench player this week. What is exciting about Olave is his target share, but his fantasy output has been terrible. Since Week 4 he has gone over double-digit scoring just once. He also only had one touchdown on the season. The only upside is that he has the Bears this week, who are giving up 29.3 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this year.
  • Hopkins had a huge week last week and is my WR24 for Week 9. Hopkins still has it and could repeat another big performance this week. For one he will be going against the Steeler’s defense, which is giving up 33 fantasy points per game to wide receivers. That is the fourth most in the league. Will Levis liked throwing the long ball and that is where Hopkins shines. Hopkins is a safe WR2 start this week.
  • Lastly, Jordan Addison is my WR31 this week. He would be higher, but with Kirk Cousins out for the year, I see Addison’s production dropping. The Vikings traded for Joshua Dobbs, but it is unknown if he will start this week. Addison is also facing a decent defense in the Falcons who are giving up 26.2 fantasy points per game to wide receivers.
