Fantasy Football 2023: Week 8 Wide Receiver Rankings

Last week brought back a lot of promise to the top names at the wide receiver position. As we roll into Week 8 these wide receiver rankings will be key in gaining another win. AJ Brown has come alive in the last few weeks as he had a slow start and Tyreek Hill has been nothing but impressive. But, players like Chris Olave and Jaylen Waddle have been in a slump where you might be wondering if you should bench them. Well, I have it all outlined for you below.

Wide Receiver Notes

  • Let’s start with Olave as my WR12 on the week. Olave has gone over double-digit scoring four times this year, but his high is 15.2. He also only has one touchdown on the year. But, the good news is, he should be in line for a huge game this week. Olave had 15 targets last week. Rashid Shaheed was behind him with eight. The touchdowns will come as Olave is the favorite receiver. He has a chance to go off against the Colts who are giving up 27.7 fantasy points to wide receivers.
  • Jordan Addison was the WR1 last week and he is in line for another huge game against the Packers. Addison has scored at least one touchdown in his last three games. He has stepped up while Justin Jefferson has been out and Addison is an easy flex start this week.
  • Adam Thielen is my WR13 this week. He had a bye last week, so you may have forgotten what he has been doing this year. Let me refresh your memory. In Week 5 he scored 22.2 fantasy points and Week 6, 23 points. He has four touchdowns on the year and 49 receptions for 509 yards. He does have a tough matchup against the Texans, but he is leading the team in red zone targets with seven. Behind him is DJ Chark with three.
  • DJ Moore is my WR23 going against the Chargers. The Chargers are the worst fantasy defense against wide receivers. I would have him higher, but with Justin Fields out, I don’t like Moore’s matchup. He did have eight receptions last week but only for 54 yards. I don’t see Moore having a huge game and I expect the Bears to run the ball instead of pass.
