Fantasy Football 2023: Week 7 Wide Receiver Rankings

I have to say this fantasy football season has been a weird one in terms of top-named receivers not showing up. But, last week brought some promise as Cooper Kupp looks like he hasn’t missed a step and Amon-Ra St. Brown came back off missing a week and finished as WR2. So, as we roll into Week 7 you’ll want to check in on these wide receiver rankings.

Week 7 does bring in a tough bye week with players like Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Ceedee Lamb, Garrett Wilson, and Adam Thielen. Also, how about Thielen? He has been a stud this season and went undrafted in most leagues.

Wide Receiver Notes:

  • Puka Nacua had his worst game of the season last week. He only put up 4.6 fantasy points on four receptions for 26 yards. However, that didn’t drop him too far in my rankings this week. I have as my WR13 going against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers defense is giving up the fourth most fantasy points to wide receivers at 35.6 per game. Now with Kupp back to himself, this should open up a lot of targets to Nacua this week.
  • Christian Kirk jumps up to my WR16 for Week 7. Since Week 2 Kirk has finished inside the top 25 of wide receivers. He is going against a middle-tier defense in the Saints, but he has been more consistent than Calvin Ridley. Look for Kirk to have another solid game this week.
  • Michael Pittman Jr. has been up and down this season, but he doesn’t break my top 20 this week because he has the Browns this week. The Browns defense is the top-ranked defense against wide receivers this year. However, Pittman has looked good with Gardner Minshew. But, Minshew has his ups and downs. I don’t like the matchup this week, so I would be cautious in starting Pittman.
  • Mike Evans has cooled down the last couple of weeks and I see that happening again this week. He has a tough defense in the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons defense is only giving up 22.4 fantasy points to wide receivers. The Buccaneers just haven’t looked good as of late. But Evans has the upside with his 8.2 targets a game.
