Fantasy Football 2023: Week 3 Wide Receiver Rankings

The season is starting to settle in, and going into Week 3 it is still tough to tell which wide receiver is going to be a consistent start. Lucky, for you I have my Week 3 wide receiver rankings that are sure to help you decide who to start and sit.

This year has had some up-and-coming wide receivers like Puka Nacua, Nico Collins, Zay Flowers, and Jordan Addison. There has also been a resurgence in some older guys like Mike Evans, Keenan Allen, and Michael Thomas. Thomas is a stretch, but he is a touchdown away from being a consistent flex-start.

Wide Receiver Notes

  • Nacua is the real deal. He is my WR13 this week, and I expect another big game against the Bengals defense. The Bengal’s defense has been solid against wide receivers, but it doesn’t matter with Nacua. He is a PPR machine. Through two weeks he has 35 targets and 25 receptions for 266 yards. The Bengal’s defense is ranked in the top 10 for lowest fantasy points given up to wide receivers. But, they did play the Browns and Ravens in their first two games. Two teams that are run heavy. So, don’t be surprised if Nacua goes for another 100 yards and 10-plus receptions.
  • On the other hand, Ja’Marr Chase drops to my WR10 this week. Chase and the Bengals have been a disappointment this year. And it looks like Burrow could miss this game. That means that Jake Browning could be the starter for Week 3. Yet, Chase does make my top 10 this week, solely based on talent. If Browning starts, he could look Chase’s way all game as a safety blanket. However, it doesn’t look good for the superstar receiver.
  • I have to say the Buccaneers have been my favorite fantasy team to watch so far, and that is why I have Mike Evans as my WR20. Evans will have a tougher matchup with the Eagles this week, but Evans is one big play away from dropping over 20 fantasy points. Even with Chris Godwin on the field, it is Evans who is averaging 9 targets a game. In back-to-back games, Evans has had one touchdown and I expect that to continue as Baker Mayfield and him build up on their chemistry.
  • Lastly, I have Collins as my WR27 going against the Jaguars. So far this season, Collins has the sixth most targets at the wide receiver position. He is also WR7 on the year. I know it is early, but the targets speak for themselves. The Texans are going to be playing from behind all year, so Collins will be a consistent start every week.
