Fantasy Football 2023: Week 17 RB Rankings

For some, Week 17 means you’re in the championships, and trust me, you’ll need to see these RB rankings if you want to win. For others, this is your semifinal game. So, let’s get you into the championship game.

Last week brought in some top performances from Christian McCaffrey and Breece Hall. Hall has been on a tear as of the last couple of weeks and I expect it to continue this week. Aaron Jones also came into his own this week and looks to be a league winner this week.

Running Back Notes

  • Let’s start with Rachaad White as my RB2. There is no question that you should not be sitting White this week. On the year he is RB3 just behind Raheem Mostert and McCaffrey. White has been consistent all year and is a sure RB2 start this week. He has one touchdown in each of his last four games. He is a league winner this week. Start him no matter what.
  • Someone you might want to bench, but shouldn’t is Tony Pollard. The Cowboys are at home this week against the Lions. The Lion’s rush defense is the best in the league, but the Cowboys have been unstoppable at home. As for Pollard’s last two games on the road, he averaged 5.7 fantasy points. Before that, in his last three games at home, he averaged 16 fantasy points per game. So the trend pulls to starting Pollard at home. He is a sneaky flex option this week.
  • Lastly, I have Breece Hall as my RB25. I know he has gone off in back-to-back games and I do expect him to still have a decent game this week. But, he is facing Brown’s defense this week. Hall has a good chance to go off this week, but I would be hesitant as the Browns are only giving up 16.5 fantasy points per game to RBs this season. Last week the Browns shut down the Texans to 72 total rushing yards and no rushing touchdowns. The week before they kept the Bears down to 88 total rushing yards and no touchdowns. This will be a tough matchup for Hall to overcome.
