Fantasy Football 2023: Week 16 RB Rankings

Last week we saw some sleeper RBs go off like Ty Chandler, Devin Singletary and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. We also saw some disappointments like Bijan Robinson and Derrick Henry. So, if you want to make the right decisions then you need to see my Week 16 RB rankings. Let’s make sure we get you into that championship round.

Running Back Notes

  • Let’s start with Rachaad White as my RB3 against the Jaguars. White has been a league winner this season. He has back-to-back 20-plus fantasy point games. He has a touchdown in each of his last three games. One rushing and two receiving. The Jaguars are middle of the road when it comes to defending RBs, but since White is a dual threat he is sure to have another huge game. You gotta run with who is hot and White hasn’t finished worse than RB18 since Week 6.
  • Now we have to talk about Bijan Robinson. I have him as my RB14 against the Colts. On paper, this is a great matchup. The Colts are giving up 23.4 fantasy points per game to RBs this season. But, the problem is if Robinson is going to get volume. In Week 15, Tyler Allgeier has 14 carries to Robinson’s seven. But, Cordarrelle Patterson also got in the mix with five carries. The Falcons flat-out just got shut down last week, but Robinson did have one fumble in the game. So, that is concerning if his carries get cut short again. It is a toss-up this week. For me, I say start Robinson. Fantasy football is all about taking risks and I’ll risk it on Robinson.
  • Another top RB I won’t be taking a risk on is Austin Ekeler. I have him as my RB24 against Buffalo. Ekeler has been flat-out bad this year and with Justin Herbert out, it doesn’t help his production. We just saw how the Raiders dominated the Chargers with Herbert out. Buffalo is hot right now and is fighting for a playoff seed. All signs point to sitting Ekeler this week.
  • Lastly, I have James Conner as my RB21 against the Bears. As of late Conner has been a top-tier RB. He scored 22.5 fantasy points in Week 13 and 16.4 fantasy points last week against the 49ers. The Bears defense is giving up 20.1 fantasy points per game to RBs this year. Conner easily led the backfield in rushing attempts. He only had 14 carries because the Cardinals were blown out after halftime. Start Conner as a high-end flex or RB2 this week.
