Fantasy Football 2022: Week 3 RB Rankings

Week 3 is here and that means another round of RB rankings. You may be upset at your top running backs not coming along in Week 2. But, don’t worry, Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook and Derrick Henry will pick it up this week.

It is still early in the season, but you need to run with your top guys still. However, if you went zero RB strategy, this rankings list will lead you into the win column for Week 3. I took the time to rank some top sleepers and took a look into injuries that happened in Week 2.

Week 3 RB Notes:

D’Andre Swift, Detroit Lions

D’Andre Swift has shown he is the real deal these past two weeks. I have him as my RB6 this week against the Minnesota Vikings. During the season, the Vikings’ defense is middle of the road when it comes to defending the run. They are giving up 20.9 fantasy points per game.

Swift has been incredible to start the season, even with Jamaal Williams eating into his carries. Last week he only had five rushing attempts compared to Week 1 when he had 15. Either way Swift still got it done in the receiving game and ended up with a touchdown.

The Lions are a fun team to watch, and I expect them to be up big against the Vikings. This means more attempts in the run game.

Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots

I know I have mentioned Rhamondre Stevenson before, but this will be the week he goes off. Damien Harris limped off the field last week with a leg injury. It is still up in the air if Harris will play, but if he is not 100%, Stevenson is bound to go off.

I have Stevenson as my RB32 and Harris at RB34. The Patriots are facing a tough Ravens defense who are giving up 18.6 fantasy points to running backs. Stevenson not only will be featured in the run game but also the passing game. I expect this to be a high-scoring game and Stevenson to get a good amount of goal-line carries.

Dameon Pierce, Houston Texans

Last, I have Dameon Pierce who is a must-start at the flex or RB2 slot. The Texans backfield has been hard to predict the last two weeks, but it looks like Pierce is their guy after Week 2. They are facing off against the Bears, who are giving up just under 23 fantasy points to running backs this year.

Pierce is a hard runner, and I expect the Texans to feed him the ball. I would not worry about Rex Burkhead taking away his production.
