Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds: Week 13

We are about halfway through this NBA season and the fantasy basketball waiver wire is more important than ever. Last week saw players such as Kevin Love, Dennis Smith Jr, and Aaron Nesmith make the weekly article. With the Nets having some guards returning, Smith Jr. can be dropped, but for the other two, hold on to them. Kevin Love will always be a valuable piece of the Miami Heat. Also, with no Tyrese Haliburton, all Pacer players will see more chances to produce. This week’s waiver wire article features two bigs and one guard.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds

Christian Wood, F/C – Los Angeles Lakers (63% rostered)

Christian Wood will always be such a good player to have on your fantasy basketball team because he is the backup to Anthony Davis. This is a man who always has questions due to his durability. This is the perfect reason to roster his backup. Wood has seen over 20 fantasy points in four of his last five games. Currently, he is averaging 26.12 fantasy ppg the past week compared to his season average of just 16.7 fantasy ppg. Wood has also seen double-digit points in four of his last five games, too with over 50% from the field in all five games. When it comes to Waiver Wire adds, Christian Wood is my favorite player this week and everyone should roster him or try to acquire him.

Alec Burks, G – Detroit Pistons (41% rostered)

Alec Burks’ roster percentage has increased by 7% over the past week. At just 41% rostered in Fantrax Fantasy Basketball leagues, that is simply too low. Burks is the veteran on this Pistons team and exploded today with 38.5 fantasy points in a win vs. the Washington Wizards. Alec Burks has scored double-digit points in his last 11 games and that is with seeing 22 minutes or less in six of those games. When it comes to H2H leagues or categories, Alec Burks should be rostered. With no Cade Cunningham for the time being, the scoring must fall on the hands of the other members of the Pistons. With that being said, Alec Burks should be at the front of your Waiver Wire Adds as he simply finds a way to score the basketball.

Moritz Wagner, C – Orlando Magic (59% rostered)

With Franz Wagner down due to an injury, his brother Moritz Wagner has stepped up his play. On the season, Moritz Wagner averages 19.8 fantasy ppg. In the past week, that number has skyrocketed to 27.42 fantasy ppg. His previous game was a downer as he had just 11 fantasy points against a great Oklahoma City Thunder team. Despite that, his previous four games before that all saw 25 or more fantasy points. His best game was against the Denver Nuggets where he had 41.25 fantasy points on 57% shooting and a double-double. With no little brother for the time being, big brother Moritz Wagner has decided to pick up some of the slack to help Paolo Banchero till Franz Wagner returns. At just being rostered in 59% of Fantrax leagues, Wagner is more than likely available in your leagues and should be looked upon to add to your squad.
