Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds: Week 12

The Waiver Wire has been wonderful to us this Fantasy Basketball season. If you have been keeping up with these articles, you have had the chance to pick up a few players who have excelled this season.

For example, Isaiah Hartenstein was one of my favorite adds a few weeks ago and he is currently leading the NBA in (+/-). Hartenstien has seen over 30 minutes of playing time in all but one of his last 10 games.

I also spoke about Brandin Podziemski from the Golden State Warriors as my favorite add last week. Podziemski has been consistent with his minutes and has seen over 21 fantasy points in all but one of his last ten games. Three of those games featured over 30 fantasy points as well.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds

Kevin Love, F/C – Miami Heat (51% rostered)

His prime felt so long ago along with winning a championship in Cleveland, too. Kevin Love has put together a nice stretch of games starting from Christmas Day. Since then, Kevin Love has averaged 27.58 ppg and that is with just ONE game of him seeing over 25 minutes of playing time. Love is a fantastic bench piece for the Heat with veteran leadership and championship pedigree. He has scored in the double-digits the past four games with his latest being a 20-point game on 66% from the field to go along with 50% from three-point range. Although Kevin Love comes off the bench, he is a nice addition to have on your roster.

Aaron Nesmith, F – Indiana Pacers (60% rostered)

The Indiana Pacers are a bottom-five team in defensive efficiency but the number one overall team in offensive efficiency. This means they put up a ton of points every night but to go along with that, the other team puts up a ton of points, too. This is good for Fantasy Basketball as players from the Pacers are always worth a roster spot. Aaron Nesmith is averaging 20 fantasy ppg this season and just had 21 fantasy points in his last game and he is 23% from the field. Playing alongside Tyrese Haliburton will help you find your shot and get a ton of shots up. Despite a poor shooting performance, he still is a producer with the ability to grab rebounds and get steals. He is currently exceeding his average on the season with 22.07 fantasy ppg in the past 30 days. Nesmith should see a spike in his roster percentage within the next week.

Dennis Smith Jr., G – Brooklyn Nets (33% rostered)

Dennis Smith Jr. has been in the NBA since 2017 and has been on six different NBA teams already. The talent coming out of college was there, but he has never been an efficient scorer although he is not a bad one. With that being said, Smith Jr has seen over 20 minutes of playing time in consecutive games. This is the first since the Nets December 27th game. Smith Jr has had a double-double in both games, too with one of them being a game where he grabbed 12 rebounds. From being a lottery pick to going from team to team, Smith Jr plays with a chip on his shoulder. Dennis Smith Jr is my favorite Waiver Wire add this week and you should roster him. With that being said, the Nets are a weird team that will bench their starters randomly at times. Smith Jr. has all the opportunity in the world to produce for a team with no real identity besides Mikal Bridges.
