Fantasy Basketball: Top 50 Dynasty Shooting Guard Rankings

There has been a lot of movement among the dynasty shooting guard ranks this season. It is an extremely deep position, leading to several household names not even cracking the top 50. While several long-time veterans are slowly sliding down, many bright young stars are rapidly ascending the ranks.

Dynasty Shooting Guard Risers

Franz Wagner is quickly flying up the dynasty shooting guard ranks. He is now in his third season and has seen his fantasy game consistently improve each year in the league. The 22-year-old still has the potential to take his game to another level and become one of the best shooting guards in the game.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. is the top-ranked rookie shooting guard on the list. His role continues to grow with the Miami Heat. He could have a similar trajectory to the aforementioned Franz Wagner as their fantasy games are very comparable.

Another rookie climbing these ranks is Brandin Podziemski, at only 20 years old, he is already starting to develop a well-rounded fantasy game and his role should only expand as the core of Golden State is not getting any younger these days.

Dynasty Shooting Guard Fallers

It seems a bit ridiculous to be putting Josh Giddey as a faller as he just turned 21 years old and is coming off a stellar sophomore season, but his fantasy numbers are down virtually across the board this season. Coming into this season, he seemed destined to be a top-10 dynasty shooting guard, but he has hit some bumps in the road in his third season. His long-term outlook is still very bright, but his dynasty stock has been on a downward trend this season.

D’Angelo Russell is arguably having his worst fantasy season since 2017-2018. He has been in and out of the Lakers starting lineup recently and hasn’t been able to find his rhythm. He is still only 27 years old, so there is still hope he can turn things around and right the ship.

Bradley Beal is also in the midst of one of his worst fantasy seasons in a very long time. This is probably his worst year from a fantasy perspective since 2015-2016. Also, his durability is a major concern as he has not surpassed 60 games played in a season for five consecutive years.

Desmond Bane is slated to miss at least the next six weeks with an ankle sprain, but it doesn’t affect his dynasty value too much, as he only dropped one spot on the initial mock-up of this ranking.

Potential Breakouts

Shaedon Sharpe has been in a bit of a slump lately, but at only 20 years old he has only just started to scratch the surface of his potential. His fantasy numbers are up across the board in his sophomore season and it wouldn’t be far-fetched for Sharpe to be among the top 10 dynasty shooting guards within the next couple of years.

Bilal Coulibaly hasn’t set the world on fire in his rookie season so far, but there have been some bright spots to indicate big things could be coming in the teenager’s future. He is already showcasing the capability to contribute elite defensive stats and if the offense evolves, he will be a very special fantasy player for many years to come.

Vince Williams Jr. did not crack the top 50 in this edition, but he is an honorable mention and he is someone to keep an eye on in the future. He is going to have an expanded role with the Grizzlies for the remainder of the season and if he excels in his new gig it will go a long way toward earning him a prominent part in the rotation down the road.
