Fantasy Basketball Schedule Preview: December 6-12

It has been a rough week or so with injuries piling up around the league: LaMelo Ball, Ja Morant, O.G Anunoby, Brook Lopez, Damian Lillard, Terry Rozier, Devin Booker, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Bam Adebayo are all out for various reasons. It is nearly impossible to replace that type of production, but you can work around the edge of the schedule to close that gap as much as you can. Let’s take a look at this week’s slate and see what collection of players can give you a boost.

Streaming Options: Covid and Schedule plays:

CHARLOTTE HORNETS – Charlotte only has 3 games this week, on the heavier days at that. However, with many of the starters in Covid Protocol, there is short-term value available to insert into your lineup.

Players to target:

PJ Washington (PF/C): A must add. He should get more opportunity in the form of minutes and usage.

Cody Martin (SF): Whether Martin starts or not doesn’t matter. Martin will get high minutes and an uptick in usage.

Kelly Oubre (SF/PF): Must add. If he is on your waiver wire, be sure to pick him up and deploy him. Oubre has been on a hot streak and will now soak up more usage.

Ish Smith (PG): Most likely the spot starter for LaMelo Ball. Temper your expectation, but Smith can provide value in assists and steals.

SAN ANTONIO SPURS – The Spurs have five games this week, including games on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. It is worth noting that the Spurs will have two back-to-backs this week (Monday-Tuesday and Saturday-Sunday). While the Spurs are young, Coach Pop may give starters a rest on one of the back-to-backs.

Players to target: Devin Vassell, Lonnie Walker, Bryn Forbes, Doug McDermott. Also, keep an eye on Thaddeus Young after voicing frustration with his role. With 5 games this week, Coach Pop may find a way to get Young more minutes.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS – The Lakers have 4 games this week, and most importantly on the slow days (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday). With a back-to-back,  Lakers veterans may get a rest opening up bigger minutes for the reserves.

Players to target: Dwight Howard, Malik Monk, Talen Horton- Tucker
