Daily Preview and NBA DFS Picks for 5/30/2021

We’ve got another four-game NBA DFS playoff slate today. You know what? I feel like I’m going to win a tournament tonight. That’s good news and bad news. The good news is I’ll be richer tomorrow. The bad news is I’m going to give you wonderful people some second-place advice. It’s not a conflict of interest if we all profit though!… Onward!

Playing NBA DFS can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also make your head spin. It’s our job to make sure you’re winning as much as possible! There are countless variables that can lead to a player’s individual performance, but I’ve found it’s best to focus on just a few that can lead to better predictability.

My favorite factors to track for NBA DFS targets: Matchups (Offensive/Defensive Ratings), Opportunity (expected player minutes, game pace), and Recent Form.

This is the AM VERSION of a living article that will be updated throughout the day, as news comes through the wire.

LET’S GET INTO THE SLATE!!!!

NBA DFS Targets and Preview for May 30

Knicks vs. Hawks (Hawks Lead 2-1)

Julius Randle. That’s the name of someone that will be the key to this game. The man is New York’s unquestioned superstar (probably will be third-team All-NBA this year). Over three games this postseason, he’s averaged: 14pts, 12rbs, and 3asts. During the regular season, he averaged: 24pts, 10rbs, and 6asts. I refuse to believe that DeAndre Hunter’s return has propelled the Hawks to a top-flight defense, capable of holding a star 10 points under his average. I’m going to make the bet that Randle will heat up. A hot Randle means the Knicks win. Roll with NY.

DFS Targets: NYK targets: Randle, Burks, Rose, Barrett, and Quickley for value. ATL targets: Trae, Bogdanovic, Collins, and Capela.

Nets vs. Celtics (Nets Lead 2-1)

Alright. Alright. Everybody has had their fun. Tatum got his 50 point game, and the Celtics avoided the sweep. That’ll do it. Kevin Durant will be locking Tatum down the next time he starts to get hot. Harden will go off. Or KD will go off. Kyrie will go off if the aforementioned couple decide to relax today. Boston doesn’t have the firepower to keep up with this team. Nets should win this.

DFS Targets: BKN targets: Harden, KD, Kyrie, Harris, and Brown for value. BOS targets: Tatum, Smart, and Fournier.

Suns vs. Lakers (Lakers Lead 2-1)

Let’s not overthink this one. Anthony Davis is healthy. LeBron James is healthy…enough. Chris Paul can barely raise his arms and is barely playing fourth quarters. The Lakers also have the number one defense in the league. I’m feeling a gentleman’s sweep coming on. Chris Paul makes the entire Suns team more efficient when he’s at his best. He’s not at his best right now. Honestly, I think they’d be better off if they let him heal for consecutive days, and let Cameron Payne spin. However, I am not the coach. Lakers win.

DFS Targets:  PHX targets: Booker, Ayton, and Payne. LAL targets: LeBron and Anthony Davis.

Clippers vs. Mavericks (Mavs Lead 2-1)

Paul George was more aggressive this past game, and the outcome was a Clippers win. Paul George will be more aggressive this game, and the outcome should be a Clippers win. I can’t live in a world where the Mavs, who can only rely on Luka Doncic consistently, have a 3-1 lead on the Clippers in the first round. That’s not happening. The laws of physics don’t allow for that type of thing. Trust in the depth of LAC tonight.

DFS Targets: LAC targets: George, Kawhi, Rondo, Jackson, and Zubac. DAL targets: Luka, Hardaway, and Kleber.

Don’t forget to check back later in the day as Bradlee will be updating his NBA DFS preview with all the info you need to turn tonight’s slate into a resounding success!
