Daily Preview and NBA DFS Picks for 4/30/2021

My Wizards are the best team in basketball!…at least right now. I tried to tell, y’all! Eastern Conference Finals are soon to come. Now that you know I’m prescient with my picks, it’s time to tell you tonight’s NBA DFS targets. Onward!

Playing NBA DFS can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also make your head spin. It’s our job to make sure you’re winning as much as possible! There are countless variables that can lead to a player’s individual performance, but I’ve found it’s best to focus on just a few that can lead to better predictability.

My favorite factors to track for NBA DFS targets: Matchups (Offensive/Defensive Ratings), Opportunity (expected player minutes, game pace), and Recent Form.

This is the AM VERSION of a living article that will be updated throughout the day, as news comes through the wire.

LET’S GET INTO THE SLATE!!!!

NBA DFS Targets and Preview for April 30

Hawks vs. 76ers

No Trae, no chance. Heck, even if they had Trae, they might not have a chance. The 76ers have the 2nd ranked defense in the league and the 6th best net rating in the league. The Hawks are 12th (and that includes all those Trae Young games). 76ers should win this easily, even if Simmons or Embiid sits.

DFS Targets: ATL targets: Bogdanovic, Collins, Capela, and Huerter. PHI targets: Simmons, Embiid, Curry, and Green.

Spurs vs. Celtics

This should be an interesting one. Both teams are fairly comfortably in the playoff picture, but they’re still jostling for seeding, and neither have hit their stride in terms of getting hot. They are 17th and 11th in net rating respectively, 10th and 13th in defensive rating, and 19th and 12th in offense. I think the star power on the Boston offense is going to be enough to overcome their defensive gap. I like the Celtics here.

DFS Targets: SAS targets: Johnson, DeRozan, Poetlt, and Murray. BOS targets: Brown, Tatum, Smart (he may be serving his suspension tonight), and Pritchard for value.

Wizards vs. Cavaliers

Wizards. Don’t be silly. They’re 13-2 over their last 15. The Cavs have Kevin Love quitting in the middle of a game. Kevin Love! The most mild-mannered guy in the world. Roll with the Wiz.

DFS Targets: WAS targets: Beal, Westbrook, Rui, and Gafford. CLE targets: Garland, Osman, Wade, and Love.

Trail Blazers vs. Nets

Finally a matchup against the Nets where I don’t immediately assume they’re going to win. Let’s look at the metrics. They are 15th and 7th, respectively, in net rating. They are 29th and 25th in defensive rating. In terms of offense, they are 6th and 1st. Ok…nevermind. Nets win.

DFS Targets: POR targets: Dame, CJ, Nurkic, and Covington. BKN targets: KD, Kyrie, Griffin, and Harris.

Magic vs. Grizzlies

Grizzlies. The Magic might have the worst roster in basketball right now. It’s wild how much Vuc meant to this team. He should be given MVPs, retroactively. Memphis wins.

DFS Targets: ORL targets: Anthony, Okeke, Bacon, and Carter Jr. MEM targets: Morant, Anderson, Brooks, and Jonas.

Bucks vs. Bulls

Bucks. Don’t overthink it.

DFS Targets: This is a potential blowout game. I’d probably fade it, but if you’re not going to, I’d stick with the stars.

Jazz vs. Suns

Wow. Can you believe it? After over 10 years, the Suns have finally clinched a playoff spot. We’re going to get to see what Devin Booker (arguably the purest scorer in the game, aside from KD and Steph) can do in the playoffs. Well, if they face the Jazz, it’s going to be a tough road to the Finals. The Jazz have the 3rd best offense and the 3rd best defense. This isn’t a matchup that favors PHX. Go with the Jazz.

DFS Targets: UTA targets: Gobert, Conley, Ingles, Bogdanovic, and O’Neal. PHX targets: CP3, Booker, and Ayton.

Kings vs. Lakers

Lakers. Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond are enough to beat the Kings.

DFS Targets: SAC targets: Hield, Haliburton, and Holmes. LAL targets: AD, Drummond, Dennis the Menace, and Kuzma.
