2023 Fantasy Football: Week 14 Quarterback Rankings

Injuries continue to hit the rankings hard as we head into the final week of the fantasy football regular season. The latest quarterback victims are Trevor Lawrence and Kenny Pickett, who will both miss multiple weeks with ankle injuries. Due to bye weeks, Kyler Murray and Sam Howell will also be absent from the Week 14 quarterback rankings. On the flip side, four new starters appear in the rankings, continuing what has been a quarterback carousel of a season. Fun times!

Injury Notes for Week 14

  • Trevor Lawrence suffered a high-ankle sprain on Monday night and will likely miss multiple weeks. C.J. Beathard is expected to start for the Jaguars in Week 14.
  • Kenny Pickett is sidelined for multiple weeks following ankle surgery. Mitch Trubisky will fill in in the interim, with Mason Rudolph as the Steelers’ backup.
  • Derek Carr is in the league’s concussion protocol while also dealing with a rib injury. It’s Carr’s second concussion since Week 10, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Jameis Winston under center for the Saints in Week 14.
  • Dorian Thompson-Robinson suffered a concussion in Week 12 and remains in the league’s concussion protocol. Veteran Joe Flacco started last week and could be under center again if Thompson-Robinson remains sidelined.

Quarterback Notes

Bye Weeks: ARI, WAS

  • Jordan Love was excellent last week against the Chiefs, throwing for 267 yards and three scores. He’s thrown three touchdowns in back-to-back games and has four multi-touchdown games in as many weeks. Additionally, Love has a 68.6% completion rate over his last three games, up nearly 10 points from the 59.4% he averaged in his first nine games. Love should continue to roll in Week 14 against the Giants. New York’s defense isn’t the softest, but they’re middle-of-the-pack in passing yards and touchdowns allowed to quarterbacks. Love is the QB9 in my Week 14 quarterback rankings.
  • Gardner Minshew is coming off his best game of the season, completing 26 of 42 pass attempts for 312 yards and two scores. He also led the Colts to their fourth consecutive win. Up next is a favorable matchup against a Bengals defense that allows the sixth-most passing yards and eighth-most fantasy points to the position. Minshew has looked solid since coming out of the team’s Week 11 bye, attempting 40+ passes in back-to-back games. More passing should be on tap this week, making Minshew a top-tier QB2 with upside in Week 14.
  • I didn’t think I’d be writing about Joe Flacco in 2023. But given the grim state of the quarterback position, here we are. Flacco got the start against the Rams last week and was surprisingly good. He finished as the week’s QB13, throwing for 254 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Assuming Dorian Thompson-Robinson remains sidelined with a concussion, Flacco is a solid Week 14 streamer. The Browns host a Jaguars team that has given up the third-most fantasy points and fifth-most passing yards to quarterbacks. They’ve also allowed opposing quarterbacks to score multiple touchdowns in four straight games, including Jake Browning, who torched them for 354 yards and two scores on Monday night. Flacco could surprise again in Week 14.
  • Matthew Stafford had another impressive performance in Week 13. He completed 22 of 37 pass attempts for 279 yards and three touchdowns against a stingy Browns defense. He’s now thrown seven touchdowns to one interception in his last two games, with only Dak Prescott throwing as many touchdowns in that span. However, Stafford’s multi-touchdown streak will likely end in Week 14. The Rams travel to Baltimore to face the league’s top defense against quarterbacks. The Ravens have allowed the fewest passing touchdowns this season (10), and only Jared Goff has topped 250 passing yards against them. Stafford is a back-end QB2 with little upside in Week 14.
