2022 Fantasy Football: Week 11 Quarterback Streamers

For Week 10, I recommended Daniel Jones against Houston, Russell Wilson at Tennessee, and Jared Goff at Chicago. Jones had a useable QB14 fantasy finish even in a low-scoring game, but Wilson disappointed after Denver’s offense collapsed following Jerry Jeudy‘s ankle injury, and Goff likewise didn’t produce despite Detroit’s upset win in a high-scoring contest.

Overall, Week 10 didn’t offer much success for fantasy GMs who eschewed drafting a quarterback early and have been streaming the position. If you drafted Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson early or managed to snag Tua Tagovailoa or Geno Smith later on in your drafts, this article probably isn’t for you. But if you’ve been streaming quarterbacks this season or have Tom Brady on bye, here are some viable Week 11 quarterback streamers with good matchups to target.

Week 11 Quarterback Streamers

Note: The below quarterback streamers are the “best of the rest”, meaning that they’re generally rostered in less than about 50-60 percent of major fantasy football platforms at the time of this writing even after waivers have run on Wednesday.

Marcus Mariota (41% ESPN, 38% Yahoo)

Even with Marcus Mariota playing poorly overall, his fantasy production has remained mostly steady. Despite subpar passing production, Mariota has scored double digit fantasy points in all but two games this season, and a large part of that has been due to his average of 35 rushing yards per game. Through 10 weeks, Mariota ranks fifth among quarterbacks in rushing attempts, seventh in rushing yards, and sixth in rushing touchdowns. The Bears’ defense has struggled to stop mobile quarterbacks as well, having allowed 54 rushing yards to Trey Lance in Week 1, 68 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns to Daniel Jones in Week 4, and 34 rushing yards and a rushing score to Dak Prescott in Week 8.

On top of that, Chicago’s defense ranks just 30th against the pass in DVOA, and they’ve allowed the seventh-most points per game to opponents this season. There’s a chance that Mariota could find some more success as a passer as well this week at home against a Bears team that just allowed 31 points to a struggling Lions squad last week. The over/under for this game is also currently at 49 total projected points, the second-highest of any game on the Week 11 slate. Mariota should have a fairly solid floor and decent fantasy ceiling as well in this matchup, placing him among the top quarterback streamers for this week.

Jimmy Garoppolo (43% ESPN, 58% Yahoo)

It hasn’t always been pretty, but since taking over in Week 2, Jimmy Garoppolo has been the QB18 in fantasy points per game. While his performances have been far from exciting, Garoppolo at least offers a fairly high floor each week, having scored at least 13 fantasy points in all but one game this season. It helps, too, that Arizona’s defense has allowed the third-most points per game to opponents and the 10th most passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks through 10 weeks.

Of course, the concern is that Kyle Shanahan will continue to limit Garoppolo’s mistakes but also his passing production by calling run-heavy games, especially in the red zone. Although Garoppolo doesn’t offer much upside, it’s a tough week of quarterback matchups. With a fair shot at some touchdowns due to yards after the catch from Christian McCaffrey or Deebo Samuel, Garoppolo is still among the best quarterback streamers for Week 11.

Davis Mills (3% ESPN, 9% Yahoo)

There’s no getting around the fact that Davis Mills has struggled in his sophomore season after having displayed some flashes as a rookie. Still, he has a good matchup this week at home against a beatable Washington defense. The Commanders’ defense ranks just 20th against the pass, and Mills has had over 300 passing yards in two of their four games since the Texans’ Week 6 bye after having failed to reach that mark in each of their first five games.

While the Commanders upset the Eagles on Monday night and ended Philadelphia’s undefeated streak to start the season, luck played a large factor, as Washington forced three fumbles and recovered all three. Prior to the three fumble recoveries and one interception of Jalen Hurts on Monday night, the Commanders had a -4 turnover differential heading into Week 10, which was tied for fifth-worst in the league. The return of Chase Young makes Mills a risky play, but with scant options this week, Mills remains among the useable quarterback streamers.

Honorable Mentions

In deeper leagues, if none of the above-recommended quarterback streamers are available, Taylor Heinicke has been inconsistent, but with solid options for quarterback streamers scarce this week, you could do worse than a quarterback that’s at least eclipsed 13 fantasy points in three of his four starts this year. And if you’re desperate with four teams on bye this week, Jared Goff hasn’t scored 20 fantasy points in a game since Week 4, but he’s reached double digit fantasy points in all but two games this season, so there’s some semblance of a floor.
