2021 Fantasy Football: Week 8 Quarterback Rankings

Fantasy managers should breathe a sigh of relief in Week 8, as top-tier quarterbacks Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, and Justin Herbert return from their bye weeks.  The bye week toll will be less in Week 8, with only Lamar Jackson and Derek Carr out.  However, there’s still lots to consider this week, so let’s get to those Week 8 quarterback rankings and notes.

Week 8 Quarterback Notes

Week 8 Byes:  BAL, LV

Joe Burrow is coming off his best game of the season, throwing for 416 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception against the Ravens.  He’s been on a roll this season, throwing 17 touchdowns, tied for fourth-most with Kyler Murray.  He should have another strong week against the Jets in Week 8.

Kirk Cousins returns from his bye week and gets a favorable matchup against the Cowboys.  In Week 6, Cousins had his best game of the season and threw for 373 yards and three touchdowns.  He should put up strong numbers again this week, as the Cowboys have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.

Daniel Jones has a plus matchup this week against Kansas City.  The Chiefs are giving up the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.  The Giants will likely be playing catch-up in this one, and I like Jones as a back-end QB1 this week.

After a rough start to the season, Carson Wentz and the Colts have started to get things going, winning three of their last four games.  Additionally, Wentz has played well, with an 8:0 touchdown to interception ratio since Week 4.  Wentz is a strong streaming option this week against the Titans, who are giving up the sixth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

Sam Darnold has had a rough three games.  He was benched in Week 7 and has thrown for two touchdowns and five interceptions since Week 5.  However, Darnold has a nice opportunity to rebound this week against the Atlanta Falcons, who are allowing the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

Tua had his best game of the season last week against the Falcons.  However, he’s not a recommended start in Week 8 against Buffalo.  The Bills have one of the stingiest defenses and have allowed the fewest points to quarterbacks this season.  Tua should be avoided this week in one-quarterback leagues.
