2021 Fantasy Football:  Week 7 Quarterback Rankings

Week 7 is here and the bye weeks continue.  This week, Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Herbert, Kirk Cousins, and Ben Roethlisberger are all out on byes.  Additionally, Trey Lance is likely out with a sprained knee.  Given this, setting lineups this week may be a bit trickier than usual.  With so much to consider, let’s get to those Week 7 quarterback rankings and notes.

Week 7 Quarterback Notes

Week 7 Byes:  BUF, DAL, JAX, LAC, MIN, PIT

Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff will be facing off against each other and their former teams in Week 7.  The game should be one of the more lopsided ones of the week, and my rankings reflect that.  I like Stafford as a top-five option this week, while Goff is a bottom-five option.

Ryan Tannehill has had an underwhelming season so far, throwing for multiple touchdowns in a game only once.  However, he has a chance to change that this week in a tasty matchup against Kansas City.  The Chiefs are allowing the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, and the third-most fantasy points per game.  Tannehill may not be able to pull off another unexpected win as he did against Buffalo last week, but he should be able to finish the week as a top-10 quarterback.

I also like Matt Ryan as a top-10 quarterback this week.  He’s coming off his two best games of the season, and he gets a cushy matchup against the Dolphins in Week 7.  Additionally, he’ll get Calvin Ridley back this week.  Fire Ryan up!

On the flip side, I like Tua Tagovailoa as a streamer.  Tua returned in Week 6 after being sidelined with a rib injury.  He played well, throwing for 329 yards and two touchdowns, and an interception.  He also chipped in 22 yards on the ground.  Tua’s strong play should continue in Week 7 in a plus matchup against the Falcons.  Atlanta is giving up the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, as well as the fifth-most passing yards on the season.

Carson Wentz and Jameis Winston have exploitable matchups this week against San Francisco and Seattle, respectively.  Both are solid bye week options.

Trey Lance sprained his knee in Week 5, making Jimmy Garoppolo the likely starter in Week 7 against the Colts.  The matchup is a favorable one, with the Colts giving up 15 passing touchdowns on the season, second-most in the league.  Garoppolo should only be an option in two-quarterback leagues, but he could surprise this week.
