2021 Fantasy Football:  Week 12 Quarterback Rankings

Cam Newton made me look good last week, as I predicted he would have 173 total yards and three total touchdowns.  He gets another favorable matchup this week against the Dolphins and their leaky defense.  Newton’s ability to score with his legs will keep him in QB1 territory most weeks, and that’s where he lands in my Week 12 quarterback rankings.

Week 12 Quarterback Notes

Week 12 Byes:  ARI, KC

Jalen Hurts continues to pad his fantasy stat line with his work on the ground.  He’s rushed for over 60 yards in four of the last five weeks, and scored three rushing touchdowns in Week 11.  Hurts is the QB1 through 11 games and leads the league in rushing touchdowns (8).  He should keep rolling against the Giants and is my QB4 in Week 12.

Russell Wilson has struggled since coming off the IR and has failed to throw a touchdown in back-to-back games.  It’s tough to trust the Seahawks’ offense right now, but Wilson has an opportunity to “get right” this week.  He faces off against the Washington Football Team, who’ve allowed the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.  They’ve also given up the fourth-most rushing yards to the position — an exploitable area for Wilson.  If there’s a week to trust Wilson, it’s Week 12.

Carson Wentz didn’t have to do much last week outside of handing the ball off to Jonathan Taylor.  However, a Week 12 matchup against the Buccaneers will likely require him to throw the ball more than 20 times.  I like Wentz this week as a back-end QB1.

Taylor Heinicke is a solid streamer this week.  In Week 11, he threw three touchdowns against the Panthers and has finished as a QB1 in three of the last four weeks.  Heinicke could play himself into QB1 territory again against the Seahawks, who have allowed the fourth-most passing yards to quarterbacks this season.

Ryan Tannehill had a Week 11 to forget.  While he threw for 323 yards and a touchdown, that also came with four interceptions and a couple of fumbles.  On the season, Tannehill has a 13:12 TD:INT ratio.  Yuck.  Things won’t get any easier in Week 12 against the Patriots, who lead the league in interceptions and have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks.  Tannehill should only be started in deeper leagues this week.
