Week 24 Fantasy Basketball Playoff Preview: April 3-9

Welcome to Week 24 of the Fantasy Basketball Season, the final week of the NBA regular season.  The season ends with a six-day week (no games on Monday) but full of a variety of scenarios that will impact your team. Expect star players to play only when needed, meaning they may sit out if the team can afford a rest day. Expect teams to empty their benches on teams outside the playoff race (Portland Trailblazers) and expect teams vying for the play-in to continue to ride their lineups consistently to establish positioning. As it is all season long, lineup shuffling brings oppurtunity for the prepared General Manager. Let’s take a look at the week.

Fantasy Basketball Streamers

There are no games on Monday. The low nights are Thursday and Saturday. Thursday has five games and Saturday has three games. The other nights are full, so in terms of streaming, Thursday and Saturday should be the targets. The teams to look at are the Portland Trailblazers, Denver Nuggets, and the Utah Jazz.

The players below are both 12-team and deeper streaming options. As always, check your league settings and be efficient with your streaming selections. Adding a few quality games this week can win you a championship!

PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS (TUES/THUR/SAT/SUN)

  • Shaedon Sharpe (SG): Huge minutes and the guy the rest of the season for the Blazers. If he is still available, grab him.
  • Trendon Watford (PF): While Watford’s role is shrinking he is still a viable option in leagues this week. Watford can provide points, rebounds, and even assists when he has it going. Watford is not consistent so look for better options if possible.
  • Drew Eubanks (PF): Eubanks will most likely finish the season for Nurkic. In about 25 minutes per night, Eubanks provides points, rebounds, and blocks.
  • Shaq Harrison (SG): Harrison looks to be locked in a moderate role for the rest of the season. Harrison can contribute assists and steals with a few rebounds.
  • Skylar Mays (SG): Given the oppurtunity, Mays is a great source of assists. He could start down the final stretch and get major minutes. If so, Mays is a useful add.

DENVER NUGGETS (TUES/THUR/SAT/SUN)

  • Bruce Brown (SG/SF): Brown is still the reliable bench option for the Denver Nuggets. As such, his upside is capped unless the starters are rested, but is valuable nonetheless. Brown contributes points, rebounds, assists, and steals.

UTAH JAZZ (TUES/THURS/SAT/SUN)

  • Talen Horten-Tucker (PG/SG/SF): With Sexton and Clarkson out, THT has been on a tear as the team’s lead ball handler. THT is doing it all: points, rebounds, threes, and assists. Add him if you can.
